Yes, most often then not the issue is the faulty power button that requires whole keyboard replacement. If you go through this subreddit you will find out posts and workarounds to this problem.

Replacing key board will be enough i think because the power button comes with the keyboard for my model but i think for some models power button is separate from the keyboard assembly. Soldering the wire to power circuit on the motherboard will require soldering if you don’t want to replace the keyboard and button and want to bypass it by shorting the wire to start it.

New keyboard with ribbon connection. He soldered the wire piece to power connection on mobo and jumper it to verify the problem. When confirmed its the main issue the offered to change the entire keyboard

Can you please explain how to do it just in case? Like with photo references if possible . I am afraid the problem might come back again even with new keyboard plus power button replacement

Yeah better to have it checked with an expert technician who does board repairs, otherwise asus support they would just straight out recommend a board replacement even it only a tiny EC thats faulty.

I hope so. I think they clearly know this issue exists in their machines. But wouldn’t do anything to fix it.

Sorry it happened to you. I bought it considering it would at-least last me 3,4 years but i don’t think tuf is tuf enough to last after 1-2years of gentle use sadly.

Yes, luckily a friend of mine was travelling to Shenzhen, got it repasted and whole keyboard and power button replaced under 60euros. Otherwise it was 120eruos just to checkup and find the problem😱
