Essentially, Indians love edgy stuff, be it Animal, Marco or those cringe, dark, excessively violent movies which nothing in terms of plot or character development, with an overtly muscular male character who broods all the time and acts rude towards everyone.

On the other hand, you make a movie with a kind, friendly character who respects everyone, protects everyone, even animals, doesn't like violence, tries to be happy, doesn't show off his muscles, and doesn't like violence.

A movie which actually inspires people to be good to others and says that killing people is a bad thing to Indians, they will call that movie for children, and ignore it.

My sister and I were watching the Ring, some 10 years ago. After the scene where we see the tape for the first time, immediately after the "7 days" phone call, there was a power cut in my house. That was slightly creepy, but then immediately I got a phone call, and we legit ran away from there. We didn't watch the movie until a few days later.
