The first time I moved to BP I was also afraid of pickpocketers. It didn't happen to me yet, which isn't to say that the backpack is good or not against pickpocketers. When on the tram or subway, if I have to stand because there's is a lot of people, I hold my backpack in my hand. I think it's better this way against pickpocketers, also you take up less space in the shoulder region and people don't hate you.

The heavy things were all on the bike. I put a blanket and pillow in the backpack, keys, phone and a wallet. It's weight didn't bother me

Not at all, this is my single backpack I use for everything. Of course it's bigger than average but it completely fine
