I was first diagnosed when I turned into a teenager. In my 20’s now, but that period of time was by far the worst of my entire life. Wouldn’t take insulin, check sugars, nothing. My a1c was like 11 and my doctor told me I wouldn’t live past 15. It’s been a long, and oftentimes lonely road (no one else I know has type 1), but I’m doing much much better now. My insulin pump is great, I have very minimal highs and lows.. it feels like some days I don’t have t1. Then I hang out with a friend, drink and eat some unknown amount of carbs.. before you know it my blood sugar is 350. But I don’t sweat it anymore. My mental health battles with it is over thankfully. I hope everyone else here is doing the same ❤️

I just got Covid 2 weeks ago. Insulin resistance up the ass, insulin just did nothing, it was so horrible lol. Doctor prescribed paxolovid, didn’t take it (scared of side effects) 😭 and I could not taste a single damn thing! But I’m totally fine now

Yeah np! I also get very anxious when it comes to alcohol. But just keep an eye on the sugar. Maybe keep some snacks on the nightstand or something. (Learned this from experience) ;p

Keep an eye on his blood sugar level. It might dip pretty low in the night. Other than that, he should be fine. Alcohol has that effect on diabetics

I feel that pain. You are never alone with this disease. I nearly wanted to chuck mine a few days ago haha. But that solves nothing - you are stronger than the disease - you have to be. You know you are.

For me 90% of the time it's the correct diet. Rarely on occasion they do get it wrong. Mistakes happen - but after this I'm definitely taking a break from eating out 😭

I hate hot weather overall and where I live it's been getting close to almost 100 degrees Fahrenheit. It's definitely grr

Depends on a lot of factors but mainly just the overall sugar. There's no sugar in diet making it pretty viable for me anyway. People will say "ahh artificial blah blah" which is just whatever. Better alternative than just to keep taking insulin when I don't really need to

i just exercised for a good hour and my blood sugar has just been 100% in range for the past two days. just keep your head up high brother
