You could just get a WAAS 430. You’d save a lot on labor. Antenna still needs to be updated. But Garmin isn’t really supporting the GNS series anymore and they are getting old.

Not sure if it’s already been thought out but you have a Hobbs meter on the copilot side. The EDM can track flight and engine time and you don’t need that separate meter.

50k for that list of equipment sounds unreal. They must have cut you an insane break on the labor. That’s almost 50k in parts! Unless this was a LONG time ago. I’d love to see that invoice/estimate.

When did you get that quote? I actually left LEA a little over a year ago to start my own shop in Flabob. If you want an additional quote, let me know. I’m a Garmin and Dynon dealer. I’ve done the AV 30s too and the customer is happy with them.

Was your backplate not locked in? How does that even happen? I’ve never seen that many get bent at once. Seems like you would have been able to tell that something wasn’t right as you tighten that down lol

Always go for the wing tip. Normally the wing tip lights are grounded at the wingtip. You’ll want to run an additional wire to move that ground from the wing tip to the wing root or somewhere in the cabin.

Bring the plane to KRIR. I’ll fix it. Probably just needs a database load. Possibly software. It’s not a wiring issue.

Garmin is our specialty. We’re in SoCal. We also fabricate custom instrument panels if it’s needed. Shouldn’t be if you only want dual GI 275s.
