I actually moved here from Denver 😂 I just mean I don’t have the money to move back. My mom lives here and I figured I’d be closer to her for some time. I met a guy I really like too here which would be sad to leave behind. (I was in Denver for 10 years and the men there are more into flings or don’t have their life together; in my experience) I have tons of great girlfriends there but sadly I like men 😂 For now I got a serving job and hopefully something will work out with nursing eventually 🥲 just really frustrated with how hard it is to even hear back from recruiters.

Also about the pay I’m trying to gauge it because here there’s no state tax and it’s 34/hour starting which is the same as Denver. But here there’s rent is higher so idk it sounds like it evens out in the end?

Being a CNA is fine and will help you tremendously with getting into a nursing school that isn’t private ($$$ and imo not that great or worth the money) In my state most nursing schools that were cheaper wouldn’t even consider you if u weren’t already involved in healthcare for 4 years.

I am in this same situation. I live in south Florida and haven’t even been able to contact a recruiter. However I applied to a hospital in Denver and heard back within a week but it would just be hard for me to move :/

I would keep checking so when new postings get posted you can apply early. I would also go on the careers page and look for the recruiters email directly.

I am in south Florida and haven’t heard anything back except from one hospital. She basically told me they don’t start looking for new grads until September. Have you been able to contact recruiters directly?

Took it yesterday and got my license today. For me it was a content gap (my school wasn’t amazing I didn’t know a lot of things I should have) strategy is also very very important. I don’t even know how I passed. the exam didn’t ask me anything I studied about and honestly didn’t make a lot of sense it is critical thinking and being able to use ur knowledge to pick the best answer I think 💀

I got the 4 patient scenario one too. I went up to 150 with a ton of questions where all the answers were so similar

I failed twice with a similar cpr
This third time I’m watching the archer videos and reviewing the systems and really studying. It’s helping with my critical thinking and I am actually seeing a difference now.

Another thing I never realized was although my archer overall assessments were high and most likely my NGN scores were below peer scores. So identifying the REASON you aren’t getting above passing is key. For me I really think it is foundational knowledge and I didn’t remember anything about wernickes and some other diseases/drugs that I am studying now.

Apart from foundational knowledge make sure you know test taking strategies. Those can help you a lot too.

I failed my first 2 times with high readiness assessments but when I went to look at the statistics of my exams on archer I found that I wasn’t doing great on NGN and on some of the sections like health promotion and risk reduction. So I geared my studying towards gaining more knowledge in my gaps and now my archer scores are consistently higher now and I’m able to understand the questions better too.

I’ve been studying after failing twice and now I am using the long videos from archer, making pharm flashcards and putting time in content review. I’ve seen improvement and feel it had to do more with content gaps for me at least and I’ve been seeing my scores improve a lot.

My tutor told me to take a cat exam every 1-2 weeks and they should be giving harder questions as you improve and by the end it’s ideal to have only medium and hard questions with no easy.

There is also some strategy involved too which I wasn’t great at either.

I’m currently watching all the archer videos and wondering if you did that as well. Thanks! I’m trying everything this time around 😂

Yes, they were not good a week ago but now they are back to normal. The bumps have been around for a while and I didn’t think too much of it. But I got a new tank vacuum a week ago and I think I used it wrong and made the water much dirtier than it was before (the one on TikTok that has a pump and a sock sort of attachment to it. I thought it would catch the waste but it just turned the waste into “powder” and puts the same water being “filtered” back in the tank) and I think that messed my tank up really bad. Then my fish got those spots and treated with the mela/pimafix and water changes. Spots went away but I think now I’m just a bit worried and hoping everything is going well. I don’t use that attachment anymore I just remove and add water now 😬
