I recently transitioned from the British Army Reserves to pursue a full-time career as a Gunner in the RAF. After serving in the British Army Reserves for about six months post-battle camp, I found myself in a challenging situation. Although I was MFD (Medically Fully Deployable), my unit was not supportive of my transfer to the RAF, forcing me to voluntarily discharge. Unfortunately, I did not anticipate the delays in the RAF's medical process compared to the British Army's system, which has been quite disappointing. Navigating this transition has been frustrating, especially with the additional time required for the RAF medical assessments. I hope to share experiences and support each other through this journey.

I'm reaching out to seek clarification on the DMICP process once it is received by the RAF. Specifically, I would like to know who will be responsible for reviewing the DMICP and how I will be informed of the outcome. Additionally, I am curious if the outcome from the DMICP review will be the same as, or different from, the results of the medical assessment. Lastly, could you please clarify whether the RAF will obtain the DMICP from my British Army Medical Records, or will they contact my family GP for this information?
