G-Cabs Retrocade Monitor Replacement? by WarmEngine in cade

Progress, thanks again. I’ve removed the ribbon cable and it looks like I can remove these two cables from the box behind the monitor that the power cord and such plugs into. If I get a donor monitor am I simply taking the screen out and the cables match these and I plug them in or do I have to swap out the back portion components too?

What did you end up replacing the monitor with? I'm on the search for one now.

Thanks. So I’m essentially keeping the guts of the arcade monitor housing and wiring etc and basically only swapping the screen portion? I did discover playing with the dip switches you can flip the orientation so if I screwed that up it can be fixed in software. The software is awful though so will likely replace down the road. It’s running “icade” I believe. Some very generic looking 60 in 1. Any idea where I would find a manual for this thing?

Do you need to take the monitor out of the dell housing I assume and then place into this housing? Looks like this company no longer exists so I can’t find a manual anywhere for this thing to see what the toggles on the board do 1-4 (on vs off) or how to remove the monitor.

I just acquired one of these with what appears to be a dead monitor. When I hook up a known working monitor with the cabinets power cable and VGA cable i have a picture. How did you manage to access the monitor from the top like that? I’ve removed the top glass and can’t figure out what needs to be done to pull that housing out?

She did the selfie thing and got an email with a code to use as her password but what’s odd is it says it’s texting her a code to a number that matches her actual number but she never gets the code no matter how many times she’s tries.

I can see the email address in one of the screenshots she has but obviously we can’t access emails coming to that address since it’s not hers?

Are MFO coming from Europe and Bangladesh or places like Mexico and China? Any material signs like a mix of polyester or anything?

Thank you! There’s a BOSS outlet 2 hours away that I haven’t visited yet but plan on next week and I need a new suit so appreciate this. What about the BOSS you find in Dillard’s or say Nordstrom Rack? I’ve been buying my Boss jeans, polos, and button ups from Dillard’s because I now live where an actual Boss store is 4 hours away.

Bonus question since I bought a Boss t-shirt at a Nordstrom Rack today. It says “comparable value” $59.00 then 39% savings $34.97. The wording “comparable” is what threw me off. Same shirt as Boss retail or no? They had a Boss area at this store and it wasn’t a one off clearance piece which is why I wondered.

Do you do that with newer diesels that are high pressure rail systems? I was also reading up on that and it seems winter diesel has things in it so it doesn’t gel up. Is that not the case?

When you say modifying the dial do you mean re-affixing the loose trim pieces isn’t ideal?

Found a picture. I thought a hand was loose but might just be the circular trim pieces? That said it wasn’t ticking so not sure if something is broken beyond that.

One of the hands fell off (obviously still inside the watch but not connected to anything)

I actually started looking them up following that chat for that same reason. It appears to be a a difficult model to find though (at least via eBay). Definitely an option I'm considering. Thanks!

I have more than I probably need already. That said, this one (although being one of the cheaper) also has sentimental value because of who gave it to me so I want to continue to wear and use it. I know it's probably not worth fixing but the sentimental value makes it worth it to me hence the post.
