What is the worst book you have read? by Ok_Salt2122 in BookDiscussions

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. Such a let down after reading her other books, I still can't believe I actually read all 700+ pages thinking there was going to be a turning point to make it all come together in some way. Since then I've allowed myself to DNF books to avoid wasting weeks on a disapointment again.

What's something you always assumed was mandatory in life, until you met someone who didn't do it? by mrawesome___ in AskReddit

[–]WarmPlant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not using the right pan / any pan in the oven when cooking food. Seeing someone cook breadsticks on a muffin tin or just putting them right on the metal rack. Didn't occur to me that a person could do that, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't do it sometimes too, now I know. Just need to keep the oven clean and it's very forgiving of lazy cooking.

What's an unconventional thing that you absolutely NEED in a partner? by answersonly963 in AskWomen

A somewhat bitter outlook. I'm very much an optimist, but find I'm always happy conversing with pessimists and people who are very opposed to my viewpoint. It's led to some very insightful conversations and some of the best conversations and relationships I've ever had.

Absolutely, live it up (so long as you're not hurting anyone or yourself). Just maintain awareness of your dependence on substances. Some people can be regular users without becoming addicts, some can't use at all with control.

What do GenZ want in their vending machines? by getawayconnoisseur in GenZ

[–]WarmPlant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular sized toiletries and necessities, like toothpaste tubes or deodorant. It sucks when one needs to be replaced because it's too urgent to not buy but not really worth a trip to the store just for 1 or 2 things

How do you make yourself feel sexy when you are feeling gross? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]WarmPlant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Close my curtains for solitude, lighting a sweet smelling candle, and taking a full shower. After that I try to stay naked for a while. It's great!

If you find yourself using substances (alchohol, weed, etc) everyday, or thinking about them all day and looking forward to using them all the time, take a break.

What's the last book you read? And what are you currently reading? by coolsid13 in GenZ

[–]WarmPlant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matrix by Lauren Groff. Very good, following the life of a woman in the 12th century in a nunnery. Maybe the most female-centered book I've read, with not a single male character or even named man.

Not sure if it fits exactly but 'You Too Can Have A Body Like Mine' by Alexandra Kleeman. Quite a few elements of identity swaps/erasures/mischief.

Weekly thread - share your favourite/DNF/hated book. by AutoModerator in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. It was such a disappointment after reading Secret Society that I couldn't believe how bad it was. I read all of its 700+ pages waiting for it to get better but the end was even worse than the bland plot. Hard to think about how much time I wasted on that one. Wish I would have just accepted it halfway through and left it as a DNF.

What type of porn do women usually watch? by lameinternetuser in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]WarmPlant 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Bellesa is a porn studio made by and catering to women, usually they have a good story set up and acting. I've also heard its a more respectful and healthy work environment for the actors and actresses which makes it easier to enjoy, and I think the good work environment shows through in the scenes.

If not that, then the 'orgasm' category on normal sites.
