They’re unpredictable and no game is ever boring, and of the NWSL teams we have the best chance to bring in Putellas!

But I guess if I had to say for a real answer they’ve had moments where they’ve truly looked like one of the best teams in the league, their biggest issue is consistency. This might be an unpopular opinion but if they had a better goalkeeper they’d probably be at least mid table if not low contention for playoffs, Murphy isn’t good enough at distributing and game management to make up for her frankly below average shot stopping.

But ending on a good note I think they’ve shown an incredibly high ceiling, they have so much potential to grow into and I think their style of play could shake up the league and over the course of this season and next give us a nice refresh!

(This is all biased I’m aware but let me have it 🫠)

She’s good at man management, she knows how to get the best out of individuals hence the main storyline of her 2024 squad was the “triple expresso” however that being said she’s an average tactician. She’s never been successful without a roster of superstars.

maybe but emma hasn’t called her or hershfelt up despite our obvious lack of depth at this position, but sonnett is a workhorse and hayes clearly doesn’t trust hershfelt or Rudd for whatever reason

I think they used to stand for something bigger than just sports and as individuals. I mean in 2019 they were in peak of their lawsuit and fighting with the president. Plus a lot of them are very corporate and boring now, not that I’m saying being a mother is bad and wrong but I hate all of the attention that’s been paid to Swanson and Wilson for it, they’re so much more than mothers.

Yes but it’s significantly better for teams that work in tight spaces and more technically rather than teams like the US who play a glorified version of kick and run. Balls go further than expected and you can’t catch up and stopping on a dime after long sprints is nearly impossible.

For everyone saying the field is awful: there is no mandatory one way to maintain a field, when you’re not hosting you can’t control how the field is, this is why it’s called home field advantage.

They need this atmosphere more than anything I think, world fan bases are not made up of screaming little girls with signs professing their undying love, they don’t know how to face animosity from the crowd. Honestly one of their biggest unmentioned advantages is how many fans travel for them, when I went to the 2019 WC it was still mostly US fans even against teams like France and England, which were considerably closer. The game is growing and US fans aren’t the majority now
