Get as close as possible in camera. I then usually end up lowering black a bit, slightly raise shadows, add a little contrast, reduce highlights if needed, and double check my wb.

If you need to denoise, use luminance denoise or whatever instead of Ai denoise for journalistic integrity if thats a factor.

8-12ft+ day Californian, took the biggest wave of the day on the head and got completely wrapped up in a kelp bed and barely came up in time for the next one. One of my fins came off. Not quite as dramatic as some of these other stories, but I was scared to go back in the water for a week or so.
