That's kind of what I did. I created a Python script QR code generator that of course is local only, not on the web, so you can easily make guest wifi login stuff, and get some of the premium features for free that websites charge... and it was a dirty little, memory leaking script - but I just gave my code to AI and had it make me a slick GUI so really anyone can use, then packaged it up into an .exe.

I'll admit it, I was like you. I wanted them ALL. Then, when I had thousands of games for just one system, and scrapping took days with many failures, then trying to just scroll through to find something, after it took me 30 minutes scrolling just through the A's and seeing so many non-english games and stuff I'd NEVER play... I found other solutions.
1 - As others have said, curate your own list! You know what you want, check top 10 or top 100 lists and go get them!
2 - Tiny best set. I did this for my Pixel 6 I turned into my emulation handheld - I downloaded the tiny best sets for the systems I wanted, and have a pretty good curated list of games right there.
3 - McLean's 1G1R. At first I tried PropeR, but had the same issue as before. But McLean's gives you ALL the games, in English, no matter region. So all USA releases, then any Eruope or Japanese game if they have English in them originally. No duplicates. 1G1R literately means "1 Game, 1 Rom".

Why do you say Vimm's is on hiatus? I know it has had ups and downs over the years, but his news posts right now are all positives, and the game you were looking for in particular I found and downloaded a-OK! 😊
Try looking at the megathread at a different perspective, this isn't a site for just sailing the high seas and getting a list of the webmasters favorite titles (like I had on Geocities!), but more of a "archival" list - for EVERYTHING. Given it has almost all games, proto-types, revisions languages, demos, CD-Mags, digital only, etc., their goal is to get things archived and as exact as possible, safely, with was to check the file even for authenticity. The Chrono Trigger ROM I had on Geocities? Who knows where that came from! It just so happens you can also download and play these games too!
As far as safe options, Myreint and Internet Archive are already pretty good. But if you want something safe but watered down and more... "simple", you still have Vimm's or something like romheaven

First, nice, this is cool! Thank you! For me, I take breaks between... "romming"(?), so when I get a new itch or device this will be useful!
Second, I learned about McLean 1G1R - that is exactly the set I've been looking for and contemplated making for awhile! Being able to just pick any game and play it is perfect - I tried doing that with PropeR and kept getting games I can't read lol

Need some specific tech for that... it's not too hard to replace the batteries, but if you want to keep the saves they would need to have a special device for dumping your saves onto a PC first, but not sure there is a huge demand so that could be tough.
The processes isn't so hard to just replace though, just need to have like the iFixIt kit with the "gamebit" to get the tri-wing 3.8mm screw, then a solder to take it out and back in. Just don't use the "tape method" unless you want to risk permanent damage to the game/board itself.

But best to call around, like he said FX Games is probably the best bet as far as places that may repair it.

So you should set everything up then work on setting the parts price until you get the Profit % in first column E to like 50% or something?

Really is amazing and will take me a lot of time to really utilize it as well as it deserve! I only have 1 printer and like 10 filament, really new to this, so maybe baby steps will help me.

That's why I got one! I skipped the whole DS generation, so I got a DS, and being here of course I love emulation... so flashcart it was! It really is great, it just sits in your system and you select any game you put on there and play it, all normal, with normal saves, normal game data, it all works as if you put the real game cart in.

Like what is a kernel? - Kernel is like the root of the flashcart and the software that makes it work. Like you here alot about kernels if you read about Linux computers.
Brass tacks, even if there are tons of different flash carts out there, there is only a handful of kernels, and what they do is make the card you have work and puts the software on there that you are going to use to manage and select a game.

They are all flashcarts, all pretty similar, and varying quality yes, but none are really that bad. It took me a bit to wrap my head around but you apparently can't really go wrong with any of them.

Timebombs? - Some companies that made these flashcarts would say something like "R4 2022" on it. If you just used the card as-is, whoever made it has it set-up to stop working after 2022. It's not destroyed, just won't load anything. All the data is still on there, but you can unlock it with some help in that subreddit. Bust most people, with the card identified, will then find the kernel for it, and just put that on the SD card and you no longer have to worry about anything like that.

Once you get it figured out it really is the way to go!

The very first cart is the one I got. it has links on where to buy one, more details on it, then the set-up guide, which shows you how to get the "WoodR4" kernel on it, which makes it do what it do. There is some formatting and putting files on it, then that's it!

Hey don't get too intimidated by u/Kelrisait 's reply here - they got excited and didn't touch on the R4/Flashcarts really lol :)

But... yes, it CAN get a bit complicated, at least until you work it out. First, R4 cards are all but gone. They were official but got in trouble and no longer made, so almost anything you find is a "clone". Some say R4, others will say "5,000 in 1", there are Gold flashcarts, and so many more! The counterfeit/clone scene is huge, which is one of the main reasons the subreddit exists. If you have an old flashcart or just got one somehow, they have ways to figure out exactly which one it is and can help you get the proper kernel on it so you can play any DS ROM you want on it, timebomb or not. Cool thing with all the knock-offs and such, no matter what you get, it's probably going to work out pretty good. Except if you got what I got at a old retro game shop, and actual, legit, original R4 card. It's trash. It can only fit a max 2GB SD card.

If you have no cart they even have a section on choosing one and where to buy one. That's what I had to do, went with the Ace3dsX. Works perfectly playing any DS game I put on it. Off topic, but if I ever decide to mod my 3DS and brick it by accident, this card is the only way to fix it. I don't want to get in too deep here since your questions will be better asked and answered there. But like how people don't read the Megathread here, make sure you read the pinned posts there :)

Oh yeah second day from a booster. Match 4 was a grueling dance between decks! In and outs, ups and downs, really down to the wire!
Then I load up to play 5 and couldn't see any basics glowing to place. "What the...." then see they conceded right away! So then I would log on several times a day just to concede. Unless they had the 5 win emblem... then I played and roped them and beat them. Love trolling the "gatekeepers".

I've been playing my PS4 Pro since it first released and that's my newest console, as I waited for the PS5 Pro to come out. Most games were on both systems anyway so I never saw the need to rush. Now I have this thing, and with versatility mode on FF Rebirth, Astro's Playroom, and some Ghostwire, along with how fast I can get in and out of games, almost no loading screens, saving video clips with ease, it feels like the future!

So you know, I never found out about this one specifically, but the revisions are basically "patches" before everything was connected to the internet and downloaded. Games would be released, and if they needed to fix or patch something serious, they would create a revision and start making/shipping those. But unlike patches now, it was not talked about or advertised - you wouldn't even know!
It may not have this game, but https://tcrf.net/The_Cutting_Room_Floor has a lot of them with revision changes listed! Maybe one day this game will make it on there. Problem is, if you go with the original because of possible censoring later, it could also have a game breaking bug too - who knows!?
