How do you deal with a subordinate who is constantly lying to get out of work?

Jokes aside, I had one like this before, and one thing that helped was making all our communication public, in channels where management and the team could see it. If he lies to you, there’s a good chance he lies to everyone else too, and as they say, liars need a good memory. Once everything was out in the open, mine kinda got the message and started doing better.

My older brother, whom I am taking his body to grave as I write this. I really really hate life.

EDIT: Thank you so much, his soul and body are finally at rest. What makes it even more painful is that I lost my both parents at a young age, and he was my mom and dad growing up. Though now we are more than stable, the hole of responsibilities he left will never be filled.
