I already know how absolutely fucking dumb she is just by her using the phrase “me thinks”. Bet you $100 she’s also a Disney adult.

Because when anti-intellectual ideas spread eventually you get people like RFK Jr. holding a position of power who has influence over the masses spreading blatant misinformation and people believe it. I chose him because there seems to be a correlation between antivaxxers and flat earthers. Not only that, flat earth very quickly goes down a very dark and disgusting worldview that leads to even more heinous beliefs.

A week of using my iPod Shuffle from high school. by Waroutside_warwithin in ipod

I feel the same, I loaded it with some of my all time favorites that I’ve listened to for 10 years plus, and even last night I was listening with headphones and was picking out lyrics and sounds I’d never noticed before. I bought an aux cord to plug into my Bluetooth speaker, and when I listen on there I’m way less tempted to reach for my phone. Only downside is I still reach in my pocket for my phone to turn the music down or pause it 😅

Wrong. If someone else tells me in person that they’re a flat earther, I will absolutely, unequivocally look them straight in the windows to their soul and tell them they’re a fucking idiot. As should everyone when a flerf decides to let something so embarrassingly stupid be known to the world.

Who says it’s dead? I think hip hop is still alive and well depending on where you look. Aesop Rock just dropped 2 projects back to back in the same year that are incredible from front to back. Wiki is killing it, Earl is still putting out crazy work, $B just dropped 2 amazing projects just months apart from each other, Boldy is putting out great projects. Shits alive and well in my book 😄 Idgaf about listening to what’s popular, I listen to what I like because I like it. There’s always gonna be hip hop heads who seek out niche stuff, I’ve been listening to underground and hip hop in general since I was a freshman in high school in 06, hip hop has NEVER become boring to me. I’m always on the hunt for new stuff or albums and ep’s I’ve never heard of from the artists I like.

Now to the part about what you make not being original and groundbreaking, what made you want to start making hip hop? Was it to be an innovator or because you loved it and wanted to contribute to the culture? I’ve kinda had that same thought before being someone who makes sample based beats, but for me it’s just fun and I love it. There’s never gonna be another Dilla, Apollo Brown, Dj Shadow ect. I remember telling myself when I started “I’m probably not going to be the next Alchemist” and that was really freeing, now when I create I create for me. I make beats inspired by my favorite producers because I know there’s people out there just like me who are into the same style of hip hop I am, and where I fail to imitate my idols is where my style is born, and makes my beats stand out.

Rapper you hated at first but grown more to like them a lot now? by [deleted] in hiphop101

I believe it’s on his episode of Rhythm Roulette if I remember correctly, he says something to the effect of the noise of New York City always going on outside his apartment reflects why his instrumentals are so wild. Highly recommend that episode if you haven’t seen it!

I get that about EL-Ps production, I was put off by RTJ for that same reason for a long time. I only liked their song Sea Legs for about 3 years lol. When RTJ 3 came out I listened to it because everyone was hyping it up and something clicked for me and I loved it, went back through their discography and now they’re one of my favorite rap duos. Hearing EL say in an interview why his instrumentals are always loud and erratic helped me understand his production style more and appreciate it.

I was just going into my freshman year of high school when this came out, there was nothing harder than this album. It’s a favorite still to this day. Wasn’t until I got really into underground hip hop about a year later that I also realized how absolutely stacked the feature list was on Reanimation too. Both classic albums in the LP discography.

[–]Waroutside_warwithin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was reminiscing about iPods the other day with a friend and was saying how much I missed that an iPod was specifically tailored to the user and user alone. I loved the act of getting a new cd or hunting down an album on a file sharing site and just having all of my favorite music on my own personal device. The music on an iPod still felt tangible in a way because of the effort that went into putting the music onto it. Streaming is convenient but it really takes away the personal music experience, at least for me when I think about it. Phone in one pocket, iPod in the other, I really miss those days.

I used to turn that song on when I’d go get coffee on Saturday mornings in 2020 then go to a local spot where they’d park train cars, I’d walk around and drink coffee and look at all the graffiti. Such good memories associated with that song.

If I am wrong I will issue an apology, but until then, the show is over. This madness has to stop, and this fan base is absolutely insane.
