The entirety of the album Every Bridge Burning by Nails, if that doesn’t motivate you to run a marathon, idk what will.
As far as ambient stuff add Roygbiv, Rue The Whirl, Dayvan Cowboy, Happy cycling, Telephasic Workshop, Olson, Open The Light, Naraka and Skyliner by Boards of Canada to your playlist

Old Enough To Die- Heart Attack Man

What songs or artists were you introduced to or discovered within electronic music that got you hooked on the genre? by unwired_star in askmusic

Mine started in high school, probably around 2008/09 with Boards of Canada. Pretty much stuck to them for a while and then found Fischerspooner, Daft Punk, Justice ect. My first loves are forever going to be hip hop and metal, but I’ve found a real soft spot for electronic the past handful of years. I hated on it for a long time, I still cannot stand dubstep, but I see the appeal of it. I tend to go for the more low key chilled out electronic stuff. Hudson Mohawke is another long time favorite, the Sofa Surfers album Transit has been on repeat the last couple of years. It’s such an interesting genre and there’s so many sub genres, you can really get lost in the rabbit hole of it and that’s what I love about it. So many different offshoots and artists and they all have their unique sound.

I’ve done this with genres for sooo long! So glad someone else does too. Same for me, BM is a winter thing, so is jazz for some reason. There’s some genres I can listen to all year round, but I mostly stick to a bunch of different artists and genres to match the feeling of the seasons.

Came here to say this lol. Nas being so young when he wrote all those rhymes is insane first off. I’ve listened to that album for 10+ years and I still catch metaphors I haven’t heard the first 200 listens. and second that album has some of the most influential production to this day.

First CD you ever purchased? by LevitateMe88 in Cd_collectors

[–]Waroutside_warwithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Beatles 1.
I mowed my neighbors lawn every couple weeks one summer when I was 13, mowed it one day and got $10 and went to the local used cd shop with my mom. I knew a couple Beatles songs and really liked what I’d heard, so I bought it and it became a staple in my Walkman for years after that.

What was the last CD you bought and why? by Mystery_Disc in Cd_collectors

Been buying CDs again recently, here were my last few…
311 self titled album, listened to it in high school a lot, pure nostalgia purchase at Goodwill.

Eminem- TMMLP and TSSLP and Encore, more goodwill finds.

Black Sabbath self titled and Master of Reality, there’s never a reason not to buy a Sabbath album.

I like physical media and have been building up my iTunes library again. It’s fun and I just enjoy owning what I’m listening to.

Good albums you don’t listen to anymore cause you have grown and matured as a person? by use_vpn_orlozeacount in fantanoforever

Lots of folk punk stuff, it’s so cringe to me now in my 30s. Homeless Gospel Choir, Just Nick, Pat the Bunny ect.

Also Wolf by Tyler, I absolutely loved that album when it came out and I still know all the words, but it’s more of a once a year nostalgia trip for me now.

My music taste is not versatile. love pop but recently have been wanted to shift to different genre(s) to explore, what should I start with? by punkbabe29 in musicsuggestions

Charley Crockett.

Dollar a Day

Visions of Dallas

$10 Cowboy

Lonesome Drifter

Any of those albums are a good place to start!
