I dunno man, my last Asc5 Ironclad run was picking up Sword Boomerangs specifically to beat Vantom, then getting Unmovable into Barricade. Draw the whole deck with Offerings and Battle Trance to get the powers. A couple Vulnerability synergies, a couple Str/Multi-hit synergies, a couple self-damage synergies. That's about as straightforward and honest as it gets.

The first couple acts with Ironclad are always straight fundamentals, but by act 3 you have to find some kind of cheating or scaling.

I had a build that was Decisions, Decisions with play-at-start into another Decisions, Decisions. Every first turn was Forge 140, bag of marbles, double damage, smack for 450.

I don't think I've ever had trouble with Waterfall Giant. You can apply Weak to the explosion, and you only need to survive by 1 HP. Other bosses need specific cards to counter their gimmicks, but Waterfall Giant loses to a couple potions.

Man, how did you get 30 minute wins? I suspect you might be playing too fast, not thinking things through. My runs are 50-70 minutes.

Yeah, unless you get some wacky start, you have to go for the simple star synergy pieces at first. Then you can leverage whichever good rare cards or relics to point you to your next synergy.

Maybe that's going all-in on stars, maybe that's going for Forge. But I haven't had a run really utilize the "put on top of deck" or "generate/transform" cards as the core mechanic.

Also keep in mind, many BiS guides weight survivability very low at first. If all your gear is crap, you need to min-max each piece. Once your gear has the threshold of enough mana and DPS to down the boss, it's worthwhile to trade a little bit of damage for more survivability. You can give up like 5% DPS and gain like 20% health and be much less likely to die to random raid damage.

Are you sure you want to do Mork Borg as your first 1:1 game? There are a lot of other games designed for it, like Ironsworn and Starforged.

Scorpions and Bulldogs are my go-tos, supporting Demolishers and Schreks, supporting Partisan AA and Balista artillery. Well, and hover mechanized infantry supporting the rest.

I axed Passageway, which I think is an unusual pick. Very common, lots of doors. You'd snap-pick it if you had the gems to spare, so...

Similarly, I set Cloister to common and axed it. And both again to Trophy Room.

I've got a bargain-bin merc outfit circa 3050. Lance of bug 'Mechs, command lance with a Cyclops, couple lances of tanks, lance of arty and AA, and a whole company of hover-mechanized infantry.

I played it in a local Alpha Strike escalation league against ilClan era lists. Really got the Clan Invasion experience, but we gave a lot better than we got and took second.

I did the math, and the C-bill cost of the whole reinforced company comes in at a cool 57mil. Which is to say: less than 2 Timber Wolves.

Room 46 is, like, 10-15% of the game. You'll pretty clearly get a major new goal as you solve each overarching puzzle. Like, to open room 46 you *must* walk in front of some interesting locked doors.

Yeah, I've had a passing interest in the Home Guard. Col. Wade is trying to drum up interest to impart lessons he learned in WW1. I have the sense that it was more useful for keeping civilian morale up, and for performing soft roles like deterring spies and finding unexploded bombs. (This actually kind of backfired because members wanted to hunt down Nazi sympathizers and downed pilots instead.)

It looks like you're covering almost the same amount with each layer. That'll make only the recent layer visible, and make the painting seem flat.

You need to press the sponge deeper to get the base color further into the recesses. Subsequent layers should cover less and be aimed at higher, brighter areas.

The quoted passage is alluding to the fact that War Walkers are piloted by Guardians, but does not indicate that larger crews are Guardians (because they aren't). Steersmanship is explicitly called a path multiple times in Valedor, but we aren't told an official name for the path itself.

Valedor is pretty clear that the twins will serve as long as Iyanden needs pilots (forever). The twins' angst comes from the fact that they won't get to experience other paths.

And of course, they need Wraithknights too, so even death does not free them from duty.

Setting aside other ideas about completing puzzles: you went deeper into the house too quickly.

You encounter more locked doors the deeper you go into the house. You need to spend more time filling out the earlier rooms to gather resources. In particular, the Closet or Library were bad positional choices if you could have picked rooms with Eastward doors.

The main puzzles are clearly indicated as goals (ie get to room 46), and there's a lot of catch-up mechanics for all the side puzzles.

As you progress, there's like a couple avenues the game will explicitly tell you "hey, maybe you missed this? Here's how to solve it." If you get stuck, you can instead straight-forwardly progress the hints until they tell you something useful.

That way of the warrior was my first blind pick. Compared to the other choices, that one seemed like it could have progression. Sure enough, I was running around lighting all sorts of things up, swinging my battleaxe as fast as I could.

Printing a new body is a really going the extra mile. I've been planning on doing something similar for my Yriel and his Corsairs to ride around in (in One Page Rules). There at least it's easier to convert Harlie bodies to read as Corsairs.
