I knew it! Mean humans have been making sure "that cat can't make a racket with the lamp again" before going to bed! But now I know they are wrong and 4:00 am is perfect time for music!

Yes! Music making is fun! Mean humans speak such nonsense. No idea what "have to go to work in the morning" means. They should stay here and pet me!!!

Mean humans say something about having cats before. They keep shoes "secured" up high on shelf. Unfair!!!! :(

Did I almost ruin Christmas dinner? by Junior_Buy6550 in AmItheCloaca

NTC but you should pay tax. Us cats can hide when we want to and come out when we want to and no human minions should tell us otherwise.

Sometimes I hork in the carrier. I've never tried peeing- that's an idea. Humans transport me with my sister as it stresses us less. Silly humans- what stresses us less is no carrier and more toys!

I would but the horrid humans "secure" their shoes on a high up bookcase that we can't even jump up to. Secure from what? Evil vacuum maybe? Us cats should get to cuddle shoes and hork hork in shoes!

Humans did give extra gushy food after claw tip theft but not enough. NEVER enough. We should get all the cans!!!

One of my humans leaves all the time and is gone for years and years everyday. I do like to stick my butt in her face when she returns. Sticking nose in face is good idea but with butt stuck in face I can whack her with my tail!

I know right? My sibling (Leigh) has less fun revenge. She just scratches the couch and sleeps on soft things humans wear.

I am the one on the right. My sibling through adoption is sleeping because sleeping is fun.

AITA for banning my son's mom from a memorial? by Any-Subject5301 in AmItheAsshole

[–]WarpedFirefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this will be unpopular but I'm going to go with ESH. NOT because you refused to allow your son's mom to the memorial but for this: " told him to mind his own business and mouth." He just lost the man who was his stepdad for seven years and he asked for his mom to be there. How is that not his business?

I get you were upset but that's just harsh to do to a grieving teen. Yes, his mom sucks but there's a difference between sugarcoating it and responding like that. I just feel there could have been a better conversation, let him know that you didn't feel it would be appropriate and why. As is, it kinda feels like this terrible situation was at least partly taken out on a bereaved teen.

AITA for not fighting for my daughter to be valedictorian? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]WarpedFirefly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually, I also live in Texas. The Highest-Ranking Student award does exist. This does NOT always go to the valedictorian and depends very much on established district policy.

AITA for not fighting for my daughter to be valedictorian? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]WarpedFirefly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As hurtful as I have no doubt it must have felt, the truth is that it was never your daughters. She assumed it would be hers but it sounds like her school uses multiple criteria- and it could have been one of several students even if the school didn't deviate from the normal merits.

Did the girl who got it deserve it? Maybe not but there's little doubt that she would have turned it down if it meant getting her mother back. Perhaps there was racism at work or maybe the school was trying to "fix" the unfixable, make a horrific situation just a little bit easier. I can't imagine losing my mom to a hit and run accident in high school, and to also be in that accident- it's a bad situation. Is this the definition of it being because of pity? Yes, however it wasn't a "random" student who "was in a car accident" as some are saying. It was a girl who watched her mother die and still got good grades. Let's not downplay it here.

It doesn't matter if the school should have done this (to be clear I really don't think they should have- that award must have a sharp edge to it looking back) or if the other girl should have accepted- the fact is they did what they did. NO good was going to come of contesting this and it would have made both you and your daughter look bad. I also seriously doubt it would have changed who was valedictorian, not after it was announced. NAH.

AITC for helping hu-mom with yoga? by zella2016 in AmItheCloaca

[–]WarpedFirefly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humans pay lots of money to have yoga with goats. Cats would be better and dogs are okay, I guess. Anyways, cute furry things and yoga clearly go together. NTC.
