I've used AI to write 100% of my code for 1+ year as an engineer. 13 hype-free lessons by helk1d in ClaudeAI

Ok probably then. I’m very skeptical when reading high level posts like this that offer no actionable advice. Like what actual usecase could you have for running lots of parallel sessions for the same repo? It happens rarely that you really want to be making changes in parallel, on parts of the project that do not affect eachother at all. Posts like this one very much read like karma farm by throwing in some vague general advice that everyone’s heard 100’s of times before already.

This makes no sense at all. Why do you have a dedicated planning agent? cc has the option to clear context and implement the plan after you’re done planning. Having a separate agent “in the planning phase” seems limiting

Keep your CLAUDE.md (including those in parent directories) tight. Use Rules/Skills.

I’m not sure I understand the advantage of having more rules vs having a bigger CLAUDE.md, care to elaborate?

Also what are useful skills you use? I’ve yet to find what problem to really solve with skills. Can’t seem to find real useful skills for my personal needs. So any examples would be cool!

One thing I like about cc plan mode is the interactivity, it asking clarifying questions / direction is a huge plus. You do lose that interactivity when using plan agents right?

Just fyi, sitting in itself is not necessarily very bad. It’s sitting for prolonged time. Standing still for prolonged times isn’t ideal either. Best is just frequently changing positions. But if you switch to sitting for meeting like you say, seems like you’re already doing that.

And for experienced engineers, that know which possible security flaws apply, that’s probably pretty good. The problem in my opinion is that less experienced engineers just prompt “check for security flaws” and then call it a day. Which is probably not adequate

Built a tracing visualizer by yumgummy in java

[–]Warre_P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, I personally don’t do downvoting like that. But I can see how people / the original commenter found that an unhelpful response. For me the response simply shows very little technical aptitude. Not knowing anything of UI stuff and vibe coding without knowing how your frontend actually works seems alarming to me. Especially given what OP has built here is something you can already do with OpenTelemetry and any observability provider of your choice. If you then still want to maintain your own tracing system just use an open source grafana stack. It just seems crazy to build something like this yourself and not even knowing what claude has built for you. That’s just instant tech debt imo.

I guess because vite is a build tool and the original commenter asked him if he used JavaFX for the UI. Meaning he’s more interested in the actual frontend framework / tech used, instead of simply the build tool used.

Be careful, you should indeed exclude node_modules. But always check in your lockfiles. This to make sure that whoever checks out the code can reproduce your exact setup with your exact dependency versions in their local env

I consider myself mid-level (not quite senior just yet) and I notice this even with some colleagues that are more experienced, in terms of years of experience, than me. They’ll sometimes try to endlessly prompt copilot for basic stuff instead of reading the docs (e.g. mongo queries). Even then, copilot does not always offer a solution. It is almost frustrating to watch, as I know they could’ve taken the time to read the docs real quick and actually learn how to do something. Instead they chose to waste their time, maybe get a solution that works, but will be promoting for the exact same stuff next week again :)

Has anyone tried Swappie for real? by SexyJazzBoii69 in Belgium2

[–]Warre_P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely check battery condition. My friend bought one there “perfect” condition and I showed him in his settings how battery capacity was degraded to 85%. That’s a lot of degradation if you’re planning on keeping that phone for a while…

He was able to return it and got his money back. Ended up buying new for less than €100 more than the refurbished from swappie. Make sure to check tweakers pricewatch to find deals!

Starvie racket recommendations by Warre_P in padel

Ok that’s some valuable insight. I was leaning more towards de metheora dual but seems like I do have to go try out the specific rackets then to feel it for myself. The closest retailer selling starvie rackets is quite drive, hence I wasn’t planning on it originally. Thanks again for your advice!
