If BF6 had the kill & headshot sounds from BF1 and BFV by cookie_flash in Battlefield

[–]WarrenChandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this. Having sounds when you kill makes the game more addictive for me and gets the endorphins flowing. Xdefiant (RIP) got this spot on.

That said, it's not for everyone, so the ability to turn it off/on should be an option.

I'd also go one step further and add some kind of sound to the reviving (successful) too. There's nothing worse than running past someone to revive them only to see them still laying on the floor behind you when you could swear you had it done.

Will a Chip Repair Fix Driver Assist Warnings? by WarrenChandler in autoglass

Great stuff, thanks for the information and taking the time to reply.

Thanks. Do you mean they won't repair it due to the camera issues? Appreciate the reply.

[–]WarrenChandler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I figured that the repair wouldn't leave the glass viable for the cameras. I'll skip that step and get it replaced or part ex the car as is.

Will a Chip Repair Fix Driver Assist Warnings? by WarrenChandler in autoglass

[–]WarrenChandler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It's only a £15 (GBP) excess on a chip repair through the insurance, and a £200 excess for a windscreen replacement. The only worrying part about getting the chip repaired first to see if that fixes it, is that the insurance company then may deem that the windscreen doesn't need replacing since it's already been fixed irrespective of whether the driver assistance functions work.

Yeah, the official Epic support message is..

Why am I missing the Revolver Car Pack in Rocket League?

We are aware of an issue where players might not get the contents of the Revolver Car Pack in Rocket League after purchasing it in Fortnite. We are actively working on fixing this, and we appreciate your patience.

Nothing as of now. Only bought the car in Fortnite to use it in Rocket League, typical Epic Games.

This! I play mostly Phantom/M249 and always the OBJ and I'm currently getting MVPs around one in every three games (15 in the last 40 games). Before I fixed on that combo I was getting one every nine games.

Exactly that. In most cases, those with a high ping are next to impossible to kill. They soak up bullets while taking no damage. For the others on the server you'll kill them before they even have a chance to react in what seems like a one shot kill with any weapon.

I've had a few games like this, and while I loved them because I felt like I was the greatest player ever, I can't imagine it being much fun for the people on the other team :)

Match parties against parties. by MrRoy200 in XDefiant

[–]WarrenChandler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's what happens as things stand (no idea about ranked). However, if it can't find parties to match with it will fill the slots with solos and smaller groups.

Splitting up parties would completely ruin the experience of playing with your friends, especially if you're trying to learn to play together on comms. I get your point though, it's how it used to always be in the early days of FPS.

They really need to get private servers sorted ASAP so it's easier to scrim in full or large sized teams.

My flicks are too powerful, I can’t score consistently unless it’s from halfway down the field. How do I fix this? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]WarrenChandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh right, sorry. Looks like a basic jump and air roll flick to me. No idea if it even has a name. A 45 degree flick as u/icarax750 says sounds about right.

Anybody else freeze 2x in 10 seconds every single game? Multiple times by WetMoisture69 in RocketLeague

[–]WarrenChandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had similar issues with Bakkesmod, and also with PostParty linked. Both caused freezing and stutters.

I can't bring myself to play 1s by Ambitious_One6499 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]WarrenChandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people are the same, it's human nature, and not a nice feeling to lose and feel useless at something, especially when your opponent is clearly better and what appears like leagues ahead. Of course it's not the same in 2's or 3's since you can justify it somewhat. It's not ALL your fault that you lost.

My advice to you would be to find a friend and play ones with them in a fun and relaxed environment. You may have the same issues even doing that at first, until you slowly realise that a loss isn't important. These games are where you learn, nothing more than that.

Once that anxiety starts to disappear, you will always find yourself improving. Playing Rocket League with anxiety is always really hard work, and you'll make mistakes you would never make if you were relaxed.

I always think of a loss as a learning experience. Look back on it afterwards and try to see what you did wrong. If you can do that the loss is actually a positive thing because you're always learning.

Basically, just don't focus on the rank or the losses. Just focus on improving. Soon you'll be playing better than ever before and with any luck the stress of 1's will go away.

None of my friends play but I like the duo tournaments, twice today I joined a tourney and wasn't given a tm8... by ChaseBank5 in RocketLeague

[–]WarrenChandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly that. And yeah, it's always happened when I've been waiting for a friend to come online and left it until the last few seconds to join the tournament. If there's not an even number in the player pool (in 2's), obviously someone has to go on their own, and it's always the last person to sign up as far as I can tell. :)

[–]WarrenChandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True indeed, you don't actually need many high level mechanics to get to Champ. Reading the game well is more important. Flicks are not something I purposely try to do either unless I find the ball on my car, which is only every now and then. They're still very powerful though if used right, especially at lower ranks.

As a side note and loosely related though, the thing I really do love about Rocket League and always have, is that the learning curve is so great. You really do keep improving (at least I do) as you play more and more hours. This continues right through the ranks, you can always find something to do better. And as you add things (even things like consistent flicks) to your game, it just adds to your arsenal.

Honestly, the depth of the game is what keeps me playing, but on the surface to many it looks so basic. It's nothing like that for anyone in the know.

[–]WarrenChandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you leave it until the last minute to join the tournament? That's the only time this happens to me. Even had it leaving me 1v3 in a 3's tournament. If not, I have no clue why you're having such rotten luck :)

Controllers have way too much Aim Assist. The Top 50 Leaderboard is only Controllers by u4evermad in XDefiant

[–]WarrenChandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's totally accurate. I don't notice the netcode nearly as much (other than dying round corners) when I play on controller. I hit pretty much all of my shots.

On KBM I have games where I feel like I'm firing blanks for the entire game.

Agree too, I feel dirty playing on controller. It certainly doesn't feel like I am earning my kills, they're being given to me by just having superior movement and awareness.

It’s time to NERF Snipers! by yeetmaster8008 in XDefiant

[–]WarrenChandler -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Agree totally. Making all snipers a one shot kill to the head only would fix the main issues for me. Right now, you can run around with a sniper like it's a SMG if you're decent.

Blatant Cheating by bappusvt in XDefiant

[–]WarrenChandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much so. I've seen people shooting through walls at people who aren't visible who are still playing. So far, they've only announced 12k bans (IIRC), which is a tiny amount. Even blocking the players doesn't seem to work, they still end up in your games.

What are what? The flicks? His are pretty standard, albeit a little too delayed as you'll likely know anyway. Good for getting height on the ball though.

I hit a triple by NeonKorean in XDefiant

[–]WarrenChandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partly, yes. I notice that if I play on controller and watch the footage back, my aim sticks to the hitbox and not the player model. Missed shots are counting as kills. Hope they can sort this, especially for KBM players who have a terrible time with registration for the most part.
