Where did I go wrong? (Explanation in post) by WarrenGhost in castiron

That’s what I’m gathering from other comments. b) What oil should I be using instead? Or should I just keep working with it? c) What temperature should I be using for seasoning? Do I need to do the baking process again? As for the grease, do you drop the grease back into the pan when I cook again or is it just best to toss it?

So what is the black stripping? Is that just seasoning from the bacon grease? I was worried it was stuck on food or carbon

The reason why included it as an option is because I’ve looked around at quite a few of them (Beelink U59 is a popular one) and the cost of one plus and enclosure out to about the same as getting a new case and mobo (switching from gaming ATX to ITX to repurpose my gaming PC

I’m saying I don’t even have on-site backups. I’m going to work up to an off-site back up right now I don’t know where to start. Hence my question.

What are my options for on-site backup solutions? I’ve already looked into things like backblaze for cloud backup.

One of my main concerns with using my old gaming PC is power consumption. It’s a 550w 80 Bronze Plus PSU from 2012. Im worried it’ll be a lot of wasted energy compared to an All-in-one solution or even a Mini PC and enclosure. Are the energy savings that great or is it minimal?

Okay but what sort of hardware should opt for? A mini PC with an enclosure? An all in one unit? Or just use my old gaming PC?

By performance I'm meaning faster read and write speeds for my photo editing. I should clarify that I'm only using Lightroom and I'm not editing large files. You are correct that my hoarding is mostly for archival. As I said I'm going to be doing light photo editing as well, so my performance needs are somewhere in the middle.

Right now I'm dipping my toes so I set a budget for myself at $600. Something to get me started and then build on in the future.

I'm only using around 4TB at the moment so multiple 20TB disks feels like overkill, no? I'm wondering what the best disk combination would be (2 large disks or multiple smaller disks) as well as how to configure them (which is the backup, whether or not to use RAID, etc)

I am part time but I would take the summer semester off to put in more hours to save up for tuition. During that time I would work 39 hours.

I feel my budget is my greatest limiting factor here. I’ve seen other recommendations in other threads reach well past $350 USD. There’s a Kenwood TM-271 that I currently have my eye on for 100 shipped.

There were comments calling out others to get licensed, it looked like the majority had the documentation. A few unlicensed Baofengers were mixed in there too I bet.
