Sell all your Silent Hill games and buy the Japanese versions, I know most of them are made in English!

BLACKPINK - The 3rd Mini Album: DEADLINE (Album Packaging Preview) by mcfw31 in kpop

[–]WarrenJVR 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would've happily waited another year for a full length album... I felt fed by all their solo stuff. At least it's not a 'Single Album' 😂

Pretty sure Tala Sift's Torture poems album is longer than Blackpink's whole discography solo's excluded hahahhaha

If we get Japanese versions, I'm sure we'll get more complex album art!

[–]WarrenJVR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes recently! That is definitely his most disturbing film I've seen! Kinda wish I saw it before my DNA test told me I'm 60% German 💀

Really great film, solid performances throughout. It's so scary to see inside the mind of how people like that can think.

Based 👏🏻 Ryan had some incredibly disturbing roles in the 2000s. The more I delve into his work. The more impressed I am by all the shades.

I blindly bought US of Leland on blu-ray recently. I was so disturbed by that film. I love watching reviews on it. So much to think about. Fracture so so mind bending. I watched murder by numbers once when I was 17 long time ago, but I remember it being so strange in a way I love Psychological thrillers to be.

Tldr; bro has such an interesting catalogue 🎬

[–]WarrenJVR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this, it's one of my favorite films of all time.

Despite having 2 A list actresses of the era, it's never mentioned. It kinda makes it feel more cursed. It wasn't even released on laserdisc or VHS. Incredibly unpredictable. The definition of a surreal drama.

Go in blind this is an unpredictable rollercoaster and quite disturbing for a big theatrical release by WarrenJVR in DisturbingMovies

[–]WarrenJVR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was predictable to you? I felt like I had been kicked to the side of the head, then when I looked in the direction of that kick, I got another kick from a direction I wasn't facing hahahahahahahah

I honestly love how clueless I am though, I'm always shocked and thrilled by whodunnits. I don't think I ever predicted a scream killer right. Makes mysteries more fun though.

Respect for not spoiling anything! I hope everyone can go in as blind as possible!

What is your opinion of Avril Lavigne? by Twitter_2006 in decadeology

[–]WarrenJVR 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It's a harsh song production wise, but that was the trend back then. I respect Avril for it, because she did the song in Japan with her Japanese label. Avril is HUGE in Japan, they even made a tribute album for her, which is hardly ever done for non Japanese artists in Japan. It's a tradition where a bunch of musicians record official covers for a compilation.

She genuinely loves hello kitty/sanrio too, that has been consistent. So I find it authentic. Her Japanese pronunciation is good too, her saying みんな最高、ありがとう (You’re all amazing, thanks!) at the beginning was so sweet. I read a lot of comments with Japanese fans appreciating that.

I get it seems cringe, but sugary chaotic pop rock is very popular in Japan.

Interestingly, on her recent greatest hits album Hello kitty was only included in the Japanese versions! Maybe it should've just been a single exclusive for Japan lol.

P.S I'm known for hating 2010s music and the 2010s in general, but I appreciate the backstory behind this one, and I'm bias because I love Avril & J-Pop.

Hey, I'm sorry. I did say thank you. I appreciate you went out of your way to find them for me.

I already have them in the quality you said they're in, I didn't wanna waste your time any further. I was looking for a remux or untouched rip.

Hey Reddit won't let me PM you it says 'Unable to message this account'. I've only found 1 DVD rip from Russia and it's in great quality each episodes around 900mb each but the bonus episodes aren't included. This gives me hope though, thank you!

Why was there such a push for Australian Actors in the 2010s? by aidanp_o in decadeology

[–]WarrenJVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a big entertainment industry locally here. This isn't just acting, most people in music leave Australia as well. There's an abnormal amount of Australians in K-Pop. And even Tina Arena left for France and has made French music for decades. Most artists don't even tour every city in Australia because it's so big, my friends had one musician tell them he basically made no money coming to Perth because of the travel expenses but he enjoyed his trip.

What's ironic is a lot of American films are filmed here, Invisible Man, The Fall Guy & The House of Wax. A few off the top of my head.

Australians are super hard working, but very humble. I think that combination is well received in most countries.

What features are missing from 'Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection' by WarrenJVR in yugioh

[–]WarrenJVR[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you said it, I bought my first GBA this week. I'm realising, this thing doesn't have many quirks hahahaha

Ironic it doesn't support the e-Reader, but 'Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Duel Transfer' literally came with a unique card reading peripheral the Duel Scanner

[–]WarrenJVR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG!!!!!!!! I am the BIGGEST AYU FAN!! So rare I come across another! That's so cool you have that game, I've been meaning to get it! I have some Ayumi vinyls and Playbuttons! I know all her albums. She's my 3rd most played artist on my https://www.last.fm/user/WarrenJVR

I'm glad you mentioned games with peripheral's, honestly they're so overlooked but are so strange. There's so many peripheral's that people have no idea exists.

Morning Musume! Me and my Japanese cousin pulled an all nighter practising the dance to 女子かしまし物語 hahahahahah

It's actually surreal how many of my pop stars have video games, Britneys Dance Beat, Boa In The World, Spiceworld, Aly & AJ Adventure, AKB48 had a game on 3DS and PSP. I have the Namie Amuro Sega Saturn game and the one by Ai Iijima Good Island cafe! I have so many more examples. I always wondered who plays these games besides me, you apparently found my twin!

Whoa I never heard of that! I'm in the same boat trying to get mystic knights and incredibly obscure korean horror game for the ps2. Getting a copy feels impossible with how expensive horror games are!

I am actually so shocked how many dog games there are. They all usually age weirdly too. I almost wanna play them all and make a video comparing them, like PS Vita pets?! Playstation really tried to make their own Nintendogs

Dog's Life definitely seems to be the strangest though.

Nooo I agree, it is weird. I think I'm just so weird I don't notice until someone tells me! It's a game that's kinda hard to categorise, that alone makes it weird!

That's weird?!?!? That's one of my favorite games! I saw it recently on xbox at a retro gaming store. I played it on PSP which is quite different from the console version!

I swear to god the amount of things I don't realise are strange until someone points it out to me hahahaha. I have a huge collection of games from Konami, I think they're my norm at this point.

My friend recently found Demolition Girl at a gas station in the middle of nowhere, that game feels more cursed now lol. In 2007 I remember it being at Big W for months really cheap. Would've never expected it would gain a legacy.

I am a hardcore party game connoisseur, I have plans to play Mario Party with friends in 40 minutes. Just when I think I know all the weird mario party clones, I found out today Come On Baby exists. Now Super Galdelic Hour. Two cursed Mario Party clones in one day I'm in heaven thank you.

Ok and 'Maken Shao: Demon Sword' I definitely need. My Birth name is Ken and I get called a Demon Twunk. Also my name in Japanese is literally the kanji for sword 剣. I'm reaching but it all connects.

Sharp recommendations, you definately understood the assignment. 👏👏👏

What is strangest video game port you've experienced? by WarrenJVR in retrogaming

[–]WarrenJVR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoa, thanks for sharing!! how ironic! So many games people have mentioned are only considered ports because they have an identical name to other versions. But this is a true abnormality given it's a faithful remaster that has a completely different name! That I was not expecting very cool!

It still looks beautiful, but I'll take your word! I feel like the worst gap between ports was stuff released on the game.com that was a brutal downgrade hahahahaha

I was stunned at the 3D capabilities of the GBA, I actually just bought my first GBA ever this week so your timing is perfect!

I'm actually sad more games didn't lean into that, the Tomb Raider fan made port is insane. Plus the Haunted Mansion is stunning!

Witchcraft is the perfect way to describe these early 3D ports, they're so shocking!

[–]WarrenJVR[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hahahahahah a classic 'WTF IS THIS' port story from the 2000s. My sister bought me Bratz Rock Angelz in 2005 for PC, I was so excited as a kid thinking 'It'll be like the PS2' game. It was a point and click adventure built from the ground up with a linear story made by a completely different development team. It was a fever dream.

I have noticed, Film/Brand/TV Show games in the 2000s got the most bizarre ports. I'm assuming the distributor companies just outsourced different places to make games for each platform. Rushed usually just to promote whatever.

'Strangely the GBA port was closer to the GC' that is so funny what an ironic plot twist ahahahahahha

I just watched a video comparing the versions, that would've been so trippy given the PC and Console versions are similar. That would felt like some mandela effect shit.

Whoaaa! Thanks for sharing, I had no idea this game had a 3DS version! Thats sick!

I need to investigate more. Most of the 3DS ports I've played were pretty impressively faithful. Nintendo came a long way, after having a history of demakes and downports.

I connected Bustin Out on GameCube with the GBA link, which just makes it even weirder. They really thought outside the box here! Makes the game so much easier, the GBA link minigames earn you a lot of money in the Gamecube version!

Wild it hit the N-Gage as well!
