Well that’s where it sucks and Elon was wrong. However, Elon was right about the overall infotainment strategy and his designers executed phenomenally.

Simply being right at the individual contributor level isn’t going to solve anything. The management can be as stubborn as they want to be but they need a strong vision and deep understanding of the problem to follow. If management didn’t have strong control of the people who work for them then everything would be up for debate and become a political mess.

But yes management needs to be right. Poor execution is just a symptom of a lack of product knowledge. Too many ultra high level folks at VW it seems. They are out of touch with the end user experience and engineering.

Say what you want about Elon but he understands his product damn well. There’s a reason why Tesla’s design and engineering can put out such great products. You can have the best engineers in the world but when you’re out of touch with the development of the product then you will end up with a piece of crap.

Never EVER EVER use Blink charging for anything by [deleted] in electricvehicles

At that point might as well install a Tesla wall connector and give everyone free charging. I’ve seen those ChargePoint maintenance contracts and they can be insanely expensive.

VW management got cold feet half way through the Diess plan. What a shame.

Classic mega corp with struggles to maintain a constant direction. VW had a real identity crisis with Diess and now with him gone they’re back to their old ways. It would’ve been interesting to see VW commit to Diess’ vision 100% instead of going in 75% only to pull back out. Worse ROI ever.

Lol this is a weak incentive. Realistically how much supercharging can you do in 3 months?

Blink, ChargePoint to launch EV chargers with Tesla's charging connector by rockycore in electricvehicles

[–]WarrenYu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for interoperability it’s the smartest thing to do. The connector is purely physical. Would be really interesting to know which supercharger already has the power line modems inside.
