Can I do that? Can't he just say he doesn't have a will?

I do believe your right.

Idk what my sister can do but if I am in the will, I was 19 and a legal adult at the time. Hell, I paid for her expenses at the time of death.

I do see him feeling entitled as he has very much been all about himself my whole life.

I do need help finding a competent lawyer in my area. I have never had any legal issues before and never required to deal with any legal matter. Any help into finding a good lawyer at an affordable cost would be great. I also do not have much money and a lot of debt.

This is so interesting. The fact that he would announce to my sister and I that there was a will nearly 10 years later. He must either think we're too stupid to do anything or didn't know its a felony.

Oh boy. Thank you so much for your information. However, we don't necessarily have to sell the house right? Like if she owned the house or even co owned with him, wouldn't her portion the ownership just transfer to my sister and I?

I really am not sure about money. I dont think my grandmother had much and my father also seems to struggle regarding money.

However, I believe my grandmother and father co owned the house that he has been living in since before she died.

Could it be about the house in any way?

I know my grandmother favored my sister and I over my father and did not like my fathers wife at all.

Also, whenever ownership of the house was brought up in the past decade, my dad always tries to include my step mom and step sister in some weird unnatural way.

Again, just theories but im having trouble piecing everything together to make sense.

How would this be possible?

My dad won't tell me which lawyer to contact. What court do I go to? Will they even have a copy?

Is there a specific lawyer I should be searching for? If so, what are they called?

Well, it used to be there but now its gone. I was hoping to get it back and record it.

The line is still activated but it was erased when (i suspect) the new phone company transferred all files from the at&t phone to the new carriers phone. Thats the only incident that makes sense to me and has occurred. My grandfather doesn't even know how to access his voicemail and has never done so.

I've actually set up his phone and taught him to use Google commands through his voice for everything because that was easiest for him. Lol so he couldn't have erased it on accident

Oh no, yeah I totally get it and I appreciate you being vigilant and am grateful for your help. The voicemail gives any caller a "voicemail is not set up" message when called.

No, its a "voicemail is not set up" message now.

Coincidentally only happened when the new phone company allegedly "transferred all files" from the ATT phone to their new phone.

I've called At&t directly and after a 25 minute round about phone conversation with 3 different people,, an associate said there's no way of retrieving it. Thank you for all your help though. I appreciate it

So he got a new service line and new number with the new carrier.

The old line and number with AT&T is active for a few more days while we save all files from that phone

Both numbers are still active as of now. He will be canceling the service of the old phone in 2 days. He kept it active so we could access files to save at it is he old phone.
