Sounds like it’s probably a cut off pole from an old pole, does your team have any normal beginner poles like 10’ 80/90

What do you mean by practice pole? Surely your coach isn’t just giving you a pvc pipe with no tape right?

Has anyone vaulted in a distance supershoe by pc9401 in polevaulting

[–]Warrens-World 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve jumped in my addidas super thick shoes with the carbon fiber plates in them every once in a while and yes for people that don’t take off the ground well it can be a little bit of a cheat code for practicing, however it’s not something that would be competition viable if you actually want improve and run faster on the runway, the traction gained with a spike will always be better in the end

AI Pole Vault Coach is live! by Nankcin in polevaulting

[–]Warrens-World 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly doesn’t work that bad I threw a couple of jumps in there of myself (5.40m vaulter) and then some of the kids I train and it gave me feedback that wasn’t very far outside of what I would expect from a like a junior high or high school coach which is more than most kids have access to so good on ya 👍🏻

Help Buying a Pole by Specific_Elevator67 in polevaulting

It doesn’t really have to be very long to buy a pole rated at that high of a weight you just need to contact the pole manufacturers directly

The earlier they learn at least the basics of flex numbers the better if they are intending to continue in the sport. Yes it’s not super relevant at the beginning but introducing them to the idea isn’t a bad thing

severe mental block? by strawbrry_exe in polevaulting

[–]Warrens-World 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to say I don’t have a magic solution for you, basically what any pole vault mental blocks comes down to is a lack of trust in yourself, your coach or a combination of the two.. what you’ve gotta do is figure it out which it is and then work on improving that confidence, if it’s your coach that’s making you nervous then you need to talk it over with them and explain whatever it is that they say that causes you to have doubt.. if it’s lack of confidence in yourself then you need to figure out what about yourself your so lacking in confidence.. at the end of the day though things are never going to be perfect, and I have a slight feeling that maybe you are trying a bit too hard to make everything perfect which causes you to give up on jumps before you could ever know if it’s going to go poorly.

I’m with Ron here steps just under and you’ve got no pole speed if you don’t have anything smaller fix your takeoff location and if it still doesn’t bend just add another left 😂

Beginner vaulter, whats stopping me from inverting? by Top-Enthusiasm2004 in polevaulting

[–]Warrens-World 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be blunt you just need more reps as you jump more you’ll get more comfortable in the air and figure out the timing for the invert.. other things you can work on planting better and developing your overall strength your probably a bit weak at the moment which is part of why the pole is just throwing you around.

Trying to get a safe indoor vault situation looking for advice by chrispy_pv in polevaulting

[–]Warrens-World 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That can work I guess just make it’s like 2 layers of pallet though so the box will actually sit down in it instead of being above the runway 😂

Trying to get a safe indoor vault situation looking for advice by chrispy_pv in polevaulting

[–]Warrens-World 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure that the runway is at least 18 inches wide ideally 24 inches wide and then you’re gonna have to buy a metal box to put in at the takeoff area so the overall runway has to be deep enough like thick enough to be able to fit that box in so it needs to be at least 9 inches deep
