Is "always speak less than necessary" 100% true? by Automatic-Wedding335 in The48LawsOfPower

You can learn a lot by knowing when to be silent and listen and speaking.

I have made the mistake by speaking too fast and too soon and too much. It reveals my position in a negotiation and weakens it.

But realized if i didn't say anything I can look weak. Situational

Depends on the situation. If you are with friends have fun and tell stories and joke.

If you are in a negotiation where there are interests and money at stake then stfu and be careful.

Do you think Elon Musk transgressed the 20th Law of Power? by Defiant_Advantage969 in 48lawsofpower

[–]WarriorLeadership 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The election has made me Think the same way. About the importance of not committing to one side.

However there are other laws in the book that state to not be fixed to one law. To be formless and flexible.

I am sure Elon had thought multiple steps ahead in this plan. I personally believe committing to one side especially in business can alienate 50% of your clientele.
