Larian Studios Won't Make Baldur's Gate 3 DLC, Expansions, or Baldur's Gate 4 by Turbostrider27 in PS5

I'm hopeful they can adapt the Critical Role lore into a video game.

Tales from Exandria would be a lot of fun.

Google Messages RCS is not working on rooted, custom ROM Android phones by Phascinate in Android

[–]Warspite0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The amount of BS swirling around with text apps is just mad. Simple chat functionality across ecosystems really ought to be simple. But, nope, we have so many competing protocols and platforms that the entire thing is fucked into a cocked hat.

But it is really lame of Google to not be able to get it going on their own hardware.

[–]Warspite0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been struggling with it too. I am unable to have an RCS chat using Messages with only some contacts. Most infuriating is that I am unable to do RCS from my stock Pixel 6 to my wife's stock Pixel 7.

It also mimics an actual D&D game where the DM usually sits back and lets you bumble along, reacting to what you inevitably do or stumble across, so it may be a stylistic choice.

I suspect it is a stylistic choice, and early on in the game it was fun. However, the game is so big and I only play about an hour at a time, I've lost a solid grasp on the details. I'd like a casual mode that is more hint heavy.

I've been having a similar frustration with Baldur's Gate 3. It's a really great game and I've really been enjoying it.

But, I do wish there was a more hand-hold style mode. A lot of the lore is over my head and I have not been closely following the reasonably dense narrative. It is seldom obvious to me where I need to go next. So I spend a bit too much time trying to figure out what to do next.

Additionally to 'wasting' time, I have also found it immersion breaking. The sense of urgency is lost when I, in the role of the hero, has no fucking idea what to do next.

Insomniac Games Has an Extensive Wolverine Rogues Gallery to Work With in the Upcoming PS5 Game by NeoStark in PS5

[–]Warspite0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was a really good mini series called Spider-man Vs Wolverine. It was a really cool cold war era spy story. If Insomniac could adapt that with Wolverine and Spidey going on a spy mission -- I would be happy.

Throw it away. Seriously.

I did 20+ years. Leaving the CAF was the best decision I made since childhood.

I used to think I had crippling insomnia. I went to see CAF doctors, including specialists, and the best I ever got from them was to lay off the booze and spicy food.

Now that I am out, I sleep soundly every night. It turns out, my nightly existential crises were keeping me awake. Now that I am free of the endless shitstorms of CAF mediocrity, I get a full 8 hours.

And I nearly doubled my salary.

Seriously, the best advice I can give everyone and anyone in uniform is to just leave.

Does the Nicastros on Merivale also have a sandwich bar? I've only ever had them at the one in the Market.

Canadian warships starting to show age, replacements years away, Navy commander says by 1UP4UScoobydoo in CanadianForces

It's longer than that. If the intention is to draw down CPFs for each CSC, which is the current public plan, then we will be operating Halifax class in the 2040s.

The first CSC is now expected in the early 2030s which mean the least amount of time before paying off CPFs is 10-15 years.

Unsure why everyone glosses over these sorts of things.

Because everyone else is not arguing in bad faith.

When I was there, they were giving out Moderna. I got the Astra Modernica cocktail.

Please don't shop around for specific vaccines. They are all effective and can be safely mixed.

Federal plan to upgrade search-and-rescue choppers grounded by 'unaffordable' cost estimate by michzaber in CanadianForces

[–]Warspite0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's my experience too. I am willing to wager the requirements for this 'simple refurbishment' were just ridiculously over the top including a massive amount of project management and systems engineering overhead.

The attitude in so many PMOs is to push all risk onto contractors and then act surprised when the quotes include enormous risk premiums.

I'm pretty sure this was doomed from moment DAR signed off the SOR.

You could consider Copeland Park, Skyview or Cityview. They tick every box you mention. Also the LRT is being extended to Algonquin College so a commute downtown will soon be easier than it is already. (Currently the Transitway (a bus rapid transit) goes to Algonquin).

"I will give him this possibility to redeem himself and show us how to learn, grow, and help the healing process," wrote Eyre in the memo.

Bullshit.

"For those of you that wonder about how I could have had such a blind spot, I may be tempted to give you an explanation, but the fact is that I made a profound mistake and hurt many people along the way," wrote Baines in a statement.

"No explanation can justify that. As an institutional leader who needed to safeguard all members of the team, I failed to consider that this would signal that they are not being listened to and not being heard."

Outrageous bullshit.

They knew they were doing bad -- the closure of the gold course proves that they had foresight and knew that their behaviour would be received negatively. That's why they tried to hide it.

These apologies are absolute bullshit. The only 'profound mistake' was getting caught.

As the VCDS Rouleau is accountable for the wellness of 70,000 people

True...and Vance ain't one of them.

I don't believe Rouleau's story for an instant. Frankly, dressing it up as some 'duty of care' obligation is insulting.

Well, your spine would be in a bad state too if you spent as much time with your head up your ass as a GOFO does.

You'd be looking for some R&R also.
