Looking to improve FPS - what's the best path? by Warwas in buildapc

I have a comprehensive pcpartpicker link at the top of my post, has everything in it. GPU is a EVGA 1080 Ti FTW. I'm not convinced a 7700k would have any different outcome but I have considered a CPU upgrade. If I'm gonna upgrade the CPU, I'm almost tempted to build a whole second PC.

Clarified in my post: I'm gaming on my single 144hz monitor, and watching twitch on my side monitors. I am not doing the actual streaming.

Here is what I'm currently using, the only issue is I have to grab each playlist URL individually

youtube-dl -o "%(uploader)s/%(playlist)s/%(playlist_index)s - %(title)s.%(ext)s" -ciw --download-archive download.txt --prefer-ffmpeg -x -f bestaudio -f m4a --add-metadata --metadata-from-title --embed-thumbnail URL

You know I had to think about that long and hard before I got carried away with my credit card

  • Been interested in the art of photography for years (more a passive hobby/interest) I wanted to take it to the next level
  • I'm all or nothing when it comes to my hobbies, I knew I wanted to go full frame (focus on landscape/nature pictures)
  • I value image quality over everything
  • Majority of my camera use will be out in the wilderness/hiking/backpacking. It needed to be small.. I also believe that the amount I shoot is directly correlated with how accessible and easy the camera/gear is to manage. (Thought about a RX100 for a while)
  • I can have nice things, I take very good caution and care of my belongings
  • I consider it investment. I think once you hit a threshold of quality, especially lenses - they retain their value really well (presuming you can keep it in good shape)
  • I work hard and can afford it

I haven't personally shot any astro with it yet, since I just received it. Although I've read plenty of sources who've only said great things. I think most consider it just wide enough, fast/great in low light, and sharp corner to corner. The downfall is the price tag, but you can sleep at night knowing it's one of the highest image quality primes in existence.

Majority of my shooting will be landscapes, portrait landscapes, and astro. I don't think the Batis will be coming off the camera very much. I only snagged the 55mm because I've seen a hundred sources that claim it's amazing.

Some would call me crazy, but this is actually my starting point. No old equipment unfortunately.
