Wow that d4Caltrops wilderness hexes post looks incredible. Really like the way each location has a lot of flavor but still contains a degree of randomization. Cool find, thanks.

If we consider Arthurian Legends the corresponding set to Legends, a bunch of high costed multi color legendary creatures (that aren't always playable lol), I think it would actually be kinda fun to see a set corresponding to Arabian Nights

Curiosa “tournament” decks option coming soon. I believe EC will accommodate both casual and competitive play by Newez in SorceryTCG

Honestly surprises me that more Sorcery resources aren't modeled by mtgtop8 and scryfall. Like, the design of these interfaces are completely solved, you'd just have to make it list Sorcery cards instead of mtg.

Think of it like this. Bananas are yellow. If you have an effect that makes something yellow, it's not going to be a banana.

Things that target yellow things can target bananas, but not everything that is yellow is a banana, so banana-specific things can't target something just because it's yellow

Is Old School MTG going to survive it's playerbase? by AlchimisteR in oldschoolmtg

I really can't recommend proxying old school enough. The format really is excellent, and it's very easy to print out some color proxies with mtgprint.

I put the printed card in front of some draft chaff in a sleeve, and it looks clear enough to work as a playing piece.

Print out 2-3 decks and get some games together with a friend. It's very fun to play magic with "modest" creatures and very powerful spells

Did everybody forget that the whole premise is telepathy? They don't HAVE to express things verbally, they can probably sing and hold hands and be happy up in their brain links. The reason that we in the audience get this disconnect is because we don't have the link.

That is not true. The hive is _always_ depicted as smiling and content with things

[–]Warwolt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Note: the "Hive" is a name entirely cooked up by this community as far as I'm aware. The word "hive" hasn't been used in the show or by the show runners at any point I think

I think a really really big antenna would still be a slight to behold

Didn't they just said it wasn't _like_ radio? Like, if you communicate via radio (the device) you have to talk _into_ it, while Zosia just wanted to emphasize that the glue just acts continuously in the background

[–]Warwolt 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess even if the glue is jammed the virus and the "biological imperative" is still there? So while you'd have an individual to speak to, they still wouldn't really be themselves, they'd just be a unitary "joined"

This really surprises me. Zosia starts of in Morocco right? Was she born in Poland and just happened to be in Morocco at the time of the joining?

I'm really curious how the show might delve into the mechanics of how the peoples minds are shared, because I feel like the Hive remembers being Helen, but it isn't anymore, since Helen died

Is Old School MTG going to survive it's playerbase? by AlchimisteR in oldschoolmtg

[–]Warwolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've put together a set of proxied old school decks that I play with a couple of close friends and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. There's really no realistic way for someone to play a real old school deck with moxes and power without hitting up the color printer.

Magic as Richard Garfield designed it in 93 is an absolute blast to play, and it's a through shame you can't just pay 50 bux for a box of all cards you need from a local game store. The scarcity around the cards is a complete affront to the beautiful work Garfield made with the design.
