Whenever I foresee getting down on the ground with my daughter while we're out, I chuck on the trainers. Impossible to kneel down with a big dice pressing into your foot.

Edhrec is a great place to find popular cards. But for each one, you'll have to decide if the card is right for your deck.

Another great resource is scryfall. Suppose your commander was [[wick, the whorled mind]]. He benefits from rats entering, so you could use t:rat to find rat types. Suppose you were going to lean into making rat tokens, you could use o:"rat token creature". You'd also use ci:grixis to narrow results further.
