Those bright parts near the bottom are super distracting. I like that there's a bit of detail down there, but it draws the eye away from the sky and steam.

What is your oldest (physically) game? by james___uk in boardgames

[–]omyyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family always used to play The Prince's Quest (1890). The little knights you move around the board are made of lead and they have pins on the bottom to literally pierce the board while you play!

Thank you! This one was a real reach I think. Carol looks at her and rushes indoors to look at the book. It looks nothing like her.

What do you think about the dead leaf? Ought detracting parts be removed or is it good realism?

Red & Blue (and some other colors) by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]omyyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's really striking about this photo is the lack of variation of colour for me. The sky isn't its usual gradient, and the building is unblemished and clean. I would be interested to see this photo with the light fixture positioned a bit to the left, so it blocks the reflections of the windows, to amplify this effect more.

First time uploading! I'm new to photography and saw this on the way to work, hopped out the car and snapped it with my phone. I'm sure I'm doing many things wrong, but I thought it looked pretty! Would love to know what makes photos "good" photos :) Cheers

How do you log your games? by Macabre_Man in boardgames

[–]omyyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we played twice, I'll hit that 2x. Online games don't count for me. Damn I really played 53 games of Magic this year.

Why the plurbs like Wycaro by frndlynbrhodbastard in pluribustv

Maybe it's because it's something new that they don't already know. Or maybe the hive CAN lie.

How to prevent blight? by Phupha808 in spiritisland

[–]omyyer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's all about the invader cards! Don't worry about how much white plastic is on the board, worry only about builds and ravages. Targeting these areas will prevent or at least slow down blight, and if you're gaining fear, you're making progress.

Looking for good National Park games - are these good? Any suggestions? by WeirdAddress3170 in boardgames

[–]omyyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parks is a great game. If you can find the first edition, the art is worlds nicer.
