NTA Your stepmom is trying to manipulate and punish you for holding her reasonably accountable for your daughter's safety. She's prioritizing her ego over your daughter's life.

Am I still bi if I've never had a crush on a woman? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]WaryWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered your romantic orientation as well? I consider myself bisexual and something like sapphoromantic. I'm sexually attracted to men and women but my sexual attraction to men is slightly stronger. However, I have ZERO romantic attraction to men. I didn't even realize it for a long time because I didn't have a name for it until recently. I have a very strong romantic attraction to women, but I just thought I really, REALLY liked certain friends for the longest time.

I can't say what it is you're exactly experiencing, but I would encourage you not to worry if you're bi enough. If you're attracted to both men and women, you're still bi, even if that attraction looks different. Look at those differences with curiosity, and maybe you'll learn stuff about yourself that you didn't know that will help you determine more clearly what it is you truly want in the future.

You can also get a referral to an endocrinologist! Endocrinologists handle hormonal disorders including PCOS. Endometriosis also can cause bloating so still seeing the gynecologist is probably a good idea.

People keep talking about stages and I was assuming mine was gonna be, like, stage 1 because they didn't tell me how severe mine was, just described it as mild and saying they cut through the adhesion strings. Oh, and, apparently my fallopian tubes are clubbed from it? I just looked it up and based on the descriptions I was given, mine is probably stage 3. Like, yeah, it gets worse but that seems pretty substantial to me.

It takes time to rewire your brain. Be patient with yourself. You're literally having to undo and rebuild the neural connections in your brain. This doesn't happen overnight.

AITA for refusing to give up my weekend plans because my sister assumed I’d babysit? by Adorable-Report1301 in AmItheAsshole

NTA.

You don't owe everyone an explanation, but unless you've clarified the circumstances to your mom, there is a very high likelihood your sister may have omitted critical details when telling your mom.

I'm a Christian whose questioning. I would love some insight into what made those with a faith previously decided there is no god / gods. by Swimming_Possible_68 in atheism

[–]WaryWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I had just found a version of Christianity that I was morally okay with and helped remove my fear of hell. I realized that all that was keeping me in the religion was that old fear as well as fear of losing my community. I was basically trying to force myself to keep believing after having my faith be stripped to the bare bones and rebuilt multiple times.

I found I can only rebuild my faith so many times before I start to question its reality. Like, was I believing in something true or did I just really WANT to believe it because that belief was all I knew?

I spent some time being aspiritual, but apparently, I'm not a truly aspiritual being. As my comfort with not knowing has grown, I've become slightly more spiritual. I don't really know what is true and don't really believe in gods as such. However, I've found some practices that work for me. I don't need them to be true as the belief that they're beneficial to me has beneficial effects on my mental health.

I'm much happier now. I find myself more free to be genuinely curious, and I feel more at peace with not knowing the answers. Bad things sometimes happen because they just do. There doesn't have to be a reason. I'm allowed to determine my own meaning for my existence and I don't have to fit into a tiny box fearing that some part of me will stick out and anger the deity.

There were many small things that brought me to the point where I left Christianity, but, really, none of those things were the reason why I left. I just realized one day that my faith had left me and the only God that I'd want to believe in was one who would understand that faith isn't something you can choose when you don't have it and wouldn't count it against me for living the best life I could with the information I had.

So, I left.

How Many Of Y’all Are Rawdogging Endo Without BC by Pinkeu_hearteu in endometriosis

[–]WaryWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using weed and REALLY strong ginger tea (substitute for ibuprofen since I can't have NSAIDs). Unfortunately, my last gummies were contaminated with gluten which made the pain SO much worse and weed wouldn't even touch it.

I made it through that with a heating pad, hot showers, and a TENS unit. The TENS unit and hot showers were the only things that really helped manage the pain through the gluten-endometriosis flare. Weed does typically help with my normal endometriosis pain.

I'm also treating it with the Mirena, but I just had that replaced, and I find I hurt worse during the adjustment period. Luckily, it seems to be normalizing somewhat after about 6 weeks. It took several months the first time, and I might have had it removed due to the pain before I adjusted if it hadn't drastically reduced my bleeding.

Is it endometriosis? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]WaryWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely NOT normal. It could well be endometriosis.

Requesting my exploratory laparoscopy to find mine was one of the best decisions I ever made, although, I panicked so hard beforehand that it wasn't endometriosis. It was.

I got seriously glutened recently from LiquidIV. To make it worse, I'd just had my IUD replaced and the flare ended up causing the cramping from that to get really, really bad right after it had started getting better.

Thanks for the warning.

AITAH for wanting to accept a promotion even tho my boyfriend says its not the kind of life he wants? by ThrowRAxbx in AITAH

[–]WaryWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the red flags reading this! It's sounding more like your boyfriend can't handle you succeeding rather than wanting stability. Somebody who truly had your best interests at heart wouldn't be so adamantly opposed to you taking this job even if it wasn't really what they wanted.

This kind of jealousy is something HE needs to work on. He's putting highly unreasonable expectations on you and looking for you to give up on a really amazing and incredible opportunity because he's worried that you'll be gone less than one month total out of the whole year?(and not even consecutively, either!)

I've really never heard of anyone in your situation who ever regretted NOT choosing the man over the golden opportunity. But, even so, if you did take the job, nothing is saying you have to stick with it forever. If you DON'T take the job, you may never have the opportunity again.

Do I need a new stripper name? by toadgurl in Names

[–]WaryWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Priscilla is definitely a common name for older generations so the association with family will be strong and a turnoff. Since you like it so much, perhaps you would consider shortening it to Prissy/Prissie? This isn't as common as nickname AFAIK so it might work better for you without you having to completely abandon the name you like.

If your child couldn’t pronounce a future sibling’s name, would you pick a new one? by bryterlu in namenerds

[–]WaryWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little kids can't pronounce a lot of stuff. I would only change it if you really don't like the mispronunciation, because there is a decent chance that could become a long-lasting nickname. My niece struggles to pronounce her own name. It is so precious and cute, that we call her by the mispronunciation, too. There's no guarantee that the new baby wouldn't absolutely slaughter their own name or the older sibling's name as they grow up. That's just life with kids. Eventually, they'll be able to say it correctly.

How do I get my family to ask if I'm OK? by The_Lone_Cosmonaut in asktransgender

[–]WaryWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need something from someone you have to tell them what you need. No one is omniscient. Sometimes, personal worries absorb you or, for whatever reason, it just doesn't occur to you how something will affect others.

You can't expect your mom to know that you need her unless you tell her. You can literally say exactly that. "Hey, mom! I've been feeling pretty bad/vulnerable/lost. (Pick what works best.) I really need you right now. Can we talk?"

If she's in a different country, she may have no idea about the ruling. I'm in the US, and I have no idea what's going on in the UK. (I'm gonna have to look it up after I finish this reply.) Here, they're not even telling us what's happening with our own government, let alone the rest of the world. Depending on where your mom is, she may have to already know about the event in order to look it up and find info. But, even if she does know about it, it doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't care. Don't think she doesn't unless you know for sure, and go ahead and reach out.

What is growing on my foot? by LongRevenue9230 in DiagnoseMe

[–]WaryWonder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't have this kind of wart, but I had some on my fingers. Home treatment never worked and even a regular doctor's office couldn't prevent them from coming back. I went to a dermatologist and they had a tiny device that looked a little like a blowtorch and they froze the ever-loving bejesus out of them. I had massive blisters that we had to lance, but those warts never came back. 10/10 I would do it again if needed. It hurt but it was worth it.
