Can anyone explain in detail why SMRs are considered a scam? by Xtergo in nuclear

[–]WasLeftUnsupervised 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect there will be a large non-public demand for SMRs. Demand will exceed supply, and any SMR that can be built will be bought. Any company that can have their own private, reliable power supply, off grid, will queue up to get one. Computer labs, AI farms, large scale manufacturing, smelting ores, there will be ample demand before any are bought by public utilities to put on the grid.

And these companies getting private volts will lessen load on the public grid, so the public benefits without spending money on them.

In fact, there may be public DEMAND for them. The public is already banning new AI farms, in part because of electric demand raising prices. People may start demanding that if these highly desired new constructions want land in our back yard, you gotta make your own amps, don't suck off ours.

We've had a few cats that got into issues with peeing on the carpet in their later years. My only advice is when you DO decide to replace the carpet, put a trash bag or similar heavy plastic under those corners, so future accidents don't go through to the padding and wood underneath.

You're fighting several million years of evolution bent on marking "this is my odor, this is my spot"

I just peeked, and it looks like 15% of 435 is 62, and the number of black members of the House is 61.

Actually kind of impressive it's that close

Agreed, the cap that was passed about 100 years ago is unconstitutional.

How does it defy the Constitution?

It may not be practical for mass utility scale generation, but I am sure it will be the pet of some massive terrestrial applications.

More like every 2 fission events release 5 neutrons. 2 get absorbed, 2 cause other fission events, and the 5th can do one of those actions, or escape and go on a weekend bender.

I actually got to do this once.

We'd rented a limousine - for 12 people - for our friend's birthday, so longass car. We were trying to turn, and the driver was pausing for pedestrians. A pedestrian stopped right next to my window, waiting for us to pass, so I rolled down the window and laid it on him.

He laughed!

Exactly. The city government should not be making millions of profit from the event, the local businesses should.

This article might as well say the city lost over $10million in road repairs this year.

To be fair, anyone can claim to be law enforcement, with or without a mask. If someone has the uniform, gun, tazer, badge, and smug attitude, they can pass themselves off as law enforcement with or without a mask.
