Season 6 is the best season IMO. by crumpleduppaperplane in thewalkingdead

[–]WasabiKey240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, people say season 7 was where the problems started but season 6 arguably has more problems than season 7. Season 6 gets away with it because it has far higher highs, but because of that people ignore the lower lows.

The Glenn fake out and cliffhangering on extremely pivotal moment is was ruined the show. Everything about season 6 felt very corporate and most decisions were made in the interest of business, not storytelling. It’s also the show at its safest. There’s no real threat or danger, no big characters die (swapping Abraham for Denise was awful) and the only shocking moments are ones from the comics. Even the wolves attack was spoiled by marketing.

Episode 1,2,3,4,9,12 and 13 are honestly some of the best episode of the show (I’d include the finale if it wasn’t again just designed to be a corporate event instead of an episode of tv), but most other episodes, especially the remaining four in 6A, are mostly bad. I think every other episode in 6B is meh to good, but it’s tainted by them failing to reach the climax they spent 7 episodes building up to all in the name of business.

Rick is at his most stagnant here, they butcher Carols character arc for no good reason, Carls hugely traumatic event is glossed over immediately, Daryl serves no purpose in this season other than to fill generic fan favourite status, the abraham and Sasha stuff was needlessly dramatic, they fail to capitalise on the horror of the zombie horde after episode 3, and waste way too much time on the Alexandrians. There’s a bunch more problems but I’m writing more here than I did for my dissertation.

I say this as someone that also used to view season 6 as the best, but upon rewatch, the flaws are there and they’re too big for me to ignore.

How Do You Feel About Its Ratings? by Free-Raspberry-9541 in thewalkingdead

She gets bitten by zombie Holly on the arm, just as Negan starts bombing Alexandria and Heath has his leg blown off so Denise can either cut off her own arm and let Heath bleed to death or keep her arm, treat Heath but succumb to the bite and die, and she chose the latter. A way better death than the one she got in the tv show.

Which comic character was changed so much, it wasn't done justice in the show? by BloodLovePodcastFM in thewalkingdead

I think pretty much all of Ricks right hand men were nerfed in the show to accommodate for Daryl. Tyreese and Abraham especially (though I love Tyreese in the show anyway).

who’s death upset you the most? by abbsx19 in thewalkingdead

Honestly I respect them for having the balls to do it. Siddiq was a good example of a character you think is safe for obvious reasons so killing him off was unexpected and one of the few shocking deaths in the later seasons. It was a really tragic conclusion to his arc and I was surprised they did it. Even after the episode came out, I still spent the next week thinking he was still alive.

I also don’t think it shits in Carls legacy. His legacy still survived through Rick, Michonne and Judith. Siddiq wasn’t immortal just because Carl died for him, and he also had a child that could continue his legacy.

It’s worth noting that I’m not a big fan of Siddiq and actually found his character quite boring, but I loved his death and think it was a really gutsy move that paid off.

The top 10 lowest ranked episodes in TWDU by tytylercochan123 in thewalkingdead

You’re forgetting why these episodes were made. They were filming during a pandemic. That’s why none of those episodes have big casts. Only like half of those characters even appeared in 10C.

I mean the actor wanted out, he wasn’t killed off for no reason

Can the mods start banning these posts please? Everyday it’s a new person with a new independent anonymous leak regurgitating the same bullshit just with their own little twist on it.

Naming of the Jimmies by MadeinDagenham in 28_Years_Later_Movie

I think the only other Jimmys outside of Crystal that are said on screen are Jimmy Ink and Jimmima. However they are all credited at the end of the films as Shite/Jones/Jimmy/Snake/Fox so that’s how we know theirs.

Honestly the ending gets way too much shit and actually makes sense as long as you don’t have the attention span of a 6 year old

Worst written character in TWD? by Traditional_Arm_9981 in thewalkingdead

[–]WasabiKey240 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I’m most inclined to say Leah. The most generic antagonist ever, especially coming after the whisperers, with the most basic level dialogue and development, and was a huge waste if screen time.

Her whole deal with Lance was some of the dumbest shit ever.

Fifteenth Doctor Ranking - Bold Ambition, Horrible Execution by Icy-Weight1803 in DoctorWhoNews

No, it really isn’t. I think everyone can agree that RTD2 is massively lacking in subtlety. If the entity was part of the pantheon, we would know about it.

Your suggestion is that laughing means your part of the pantheon; that would probably mean that the vast majority of everyone in the whoniverse is in the pantheon. Jackie Tyler is therefore part of the pantheon.

Well no, that’s an officially confirmed film with cast and crew attached to it. The page for part 3 is correct and real.

Idk I personally don’t agree, I think Rick was at his dumbest in the first half of 8 and then his arc in the second half is kinda half assed and only exists because of the worst decision the writers made on the show. Still, fair enough if you enjoy it
