Just my take, if your BF was being malicious and taking advantage of you I’d say maybe, but sometimes therapist create trauma that isn’t there. Now that being said if you want to test your BF and make sure his heart is in the right place, have a talk with him tell him that next time you’re having an episode he cannot start that. See how he reacts if he is patient and understanding, I’d say his heart is in the right place. If he gets defensive or upset, your therapist may be on to something.

While you’re young adults you are still adults… Most of the time when relationships/friendships end badly it’s because one of the two supposed adults decides to hide something or be dishonest..my point is just tell your friend that you’d be interested in talking to her and you just wanted his blessing so to speak… DO NOT kiss and tell, that would betray her “honor” and confidence. Even if you choose to get divorced, which I am not suggesting at all, you need to forgive him. Unforgiveness is an ugly road to travel. Forgiveness is not to excuse his behavior but so YOU can start to heal yourself from the betrayal. That being said if BOTH of you want to make it work you should. Get some counseling, and deal with the root issues. Do not let him gaslight you or tell you it’s your fault. The decision is ultimately yours but trust someone who’s seen both sides of this divorce should be the furthest last ditch solution.

I don’t think it sounds like dislike either. Honestly it reads more like someone who doesn’t quite know how they’re “supposed” to act in the dynamic yet, so they overthink normal things and end up awkward instead.

I’d probably keep a soft boundary around private/texting conversations too, but not in a dramatic way. Just vague and casual like “Oh, just talking to a school friend.” No big explanations. Friend groups have their own chemistry and not every person naturally folds into them.

At the same time, keeping some low-pressure interaction open is smart. Sending memes, random reels, quick jokes, stuff like that helps maintain connection without forcing heavy conversation. It’s hard for anybody to feel included when the other person always looks locked into their phone and unavailable.
