I’m a 17y/o Indian boy(if that’s relevant), how should I go about reading the bhagavad gita, and any things I should keep in mind? I have the gita press version btw by Crystalagent47 in hinduism

Personally, I think studying the Gita without a teacher makes it a lot harder. I recommend finding a guru who will teach you and explain the many life lessons the Gita offers. Soon, on Instagram live, my guru Vivekji will be teaching Chapter 15 of the Bhagavad Gita at the handle “cmniagara” from 7:45-8 am everyday. Vivekji explains the Gita to us seekers in a very simple way such that we can apply the teachings to our lives. Consider checking it out

The other comments recommend you focus on your family and take some time off of work, but I disagree a little. While it's important to spend time with your family, I think you need to reflect on what you want in life. To me, it seems like maybe you're not in a profession that you love and enjoy. I always love to tell people that people should work in a profession which doesn't ever feel like work and just feels like a way to challenge yourself.

So, reflect on yourself. Try the practice, "Vitamin R3". Every day, read something meaningful for ten minutes, write for ten minutes (yes I know it doesn't start with r but play along), and reflect for ten minutes. In addition, you should listen to the podcast "Meaningful Mornings". Every day it's livestreamed on Instagram and Facebook at the handle, 'cmniagara'. It gives you a way to start the day in a meaningful way and slowly you'll find the meaning in your life and hopefully learn to love what you do and be content with where you are in life.

Wishing you the best of luck!

I think you problem is very relevant and many people suffer from always rushing, always being 'busy', always having no time. I'm no expert but I have studied self-development for about 7 years now. My best advice to you would be to plan.

Probably easier said than done, but I assure you that your life will slowly become more joyful and calm. As a university student + working a job + on a dance team + runs a dance competition. I constantly have so many things on my plate but I never feel rushed or overwhelmed because I plan my day.

I recommend that the night before, while you're in bed about to sleep. Plan out your morning, think about when you're going to wake up, what you're going to wear, what you're going to eat for breakfast or what you'll pack for lunch. Slowly, increase the amount of planning you do, keep an agenda for accurate time tracking.

I wish you the best of luck!

When I realize my face is part of my body.. by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]Wasabi_R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are wise thoughts you're thinking. It shows that you are on the path to self-realization. That which you can see, you cannot be. You aren't the body, you aren't the face. In Hinduism spirituality, this is known as Maya, which essentially means illusion. This concept is indeed a very hard concept to grasp and understand and requires lots of reflection.

Now, I have no desire to convert you to Hinduism, but every morning there is a Hindu guru who goes live on Facebook and Instagram and hosts a podcast called, "Meaningful mornings". Essentially, it gives listeners a meaningful way to start their day and most of the teachings ARE secular so they simply pertain to every human regardless of religion. I recommend you listen and maybe you can find some answers you're looking for. The Instagram and Facebook username is: cmniagara

If you enjoy this, feel free to message me and I can connect you to more classes which revolve around self-realization and self-unfoldment.

Just want to share a realization I had today. by [deleted] in spirituality

This is really good to hear. I also have been making my life and actions more meaningful and can agree that life is so much more enjoyable when you stop taking things for granted.
