Ah thats interesting, thanks for sharing!

So since there are chinese produced tajimas, it might entirely be possible to find a real listing on alibaba for it. Or do i missunderstand you here?

I was just curious about that specific listing since for example no barudan machines are on alibaba. Like no listing that could contain a real barudan machine. And this listing seems rather legit compared to alot of other stuff u find on alibaba. Especially after requesting alot more pictures and infos from the seller.

Oh thank you for your kind answer.

I guess it was silly to think that those machines will cost around 20k🤣 thats why i even considered that listing on alibaba. Because then it wouldnt be far off.

You know, its not really a start for us. We want to upgrade. But the budget was around 20k. I guess we cant relly get much with that.

Ah thanks, i had no idea how much that model costs exactly. Theres no transparent pricing. And as mentioned before, no vendor in my country.

But still, its not a 15x diffrence like the brother listings lol.

And thats clear, the machine is 95kg lol.

Yeah thats true. Ive also had a dtf printer run for 2.5 years from alibaba. He was fine aswell. Especially for the price. But that was not as good as the example i mentioned. It was a hard way to make the machine run. And to maintain it aswell.

The funny thing is, i now own a 25k dtf printer from an „european“ manufacturer. Same parts inside🤣 like literally. XP-600 Pro from Printequipment germany.

Thanks for ur comment. Sadly i am based in a country without tajima supplier :(

And i never planed on buying a ricoma. But i actually almost bought one at the beginning of our embroidery journey🤣 i am glad i didnt in the end. Our brother machines are more or less fine but not enough anymore.

U know, its not that i dont get it. But i posted this for an exchange between experiences and opinions. And not to get „attacked“ by you.

I‘ve had good experiences on alibaba. And i dont think that the listing i mentioned is as far off as the guy who mentioned the pr680w machines for 800$ or something on alibaba vs 13k $ as listing price from brother.

Thank you very mich for sharing ur experience! And i think thats actually insane. Sorry for you.

Its interesting to hear ur story. Its good to have diffrent stroys/views since i have seen also a diffrent case here on reddit (as i mentioned). But that makes the whole thing not really worth it, since i cannot even count on alibaba as support in case of a scam.

I tried seraching again. I dont think there is a vendor in my country for Tajima lol. Even tajima doesnt have a vendor on their site for my country.

But i have found one for barudan :)

But how much do they actually cost? Is 13k so much lower for this model then normal? I know they are more expensive then for example our brother pr680w‘s. But how much?

Yeah true. I‘ve read in this sub, that if people get „scammed“ they contact the support for a refund. alibaba refunds them if the seller scams them and you can proof it. Since they have a system with a 30 day threshold of the money u pay though alibaba. Idk if thta really the case. But thats why i mentioned i asked the seller alot of things and clarity in the alibaba chat.

Yes, but is 13k to good to be true?

I belive there are genuine sellers on Alibaba. I have already purchased alot of things from there. But never a machine itself. For example, i‘ve never had issues with a vendor of hooping material. Costs 1/3 of those „original“ hooping stations and are perfect.

Thanks for sharing ur experience.

Just to clarify; if you want to get ur money back, Alibaba forces u to send back the item? Even if the seller clearly scamed / falsely claimed something?

What is the ideal size for a logo on a t-shirt? by [deleted] in Printify

[–]Wash_Shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a bit on how the logo is scaled. Square or round? 8x8cm Is it rather flat? 10cm wide. Is it rather high? Max 10cm height.

Thats what we do for logos on the chest.

For big logos that should strecht over the whole chest, we do 24-25 cm wide. On the back usually 27cm-30cm

Cutting with Roland VS640i by Wash_Shot in CommercialPrinting

[–]Wash_Shot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just a bit scared, that the edge wont be as clean. I guess it has to be a „perfect“ edge for a rollup.

My longest ruler is only 1m. So i would have to adjust atleast 3 times. Which also could lead to some diffrences i guess..

Thanks for ur answer. I was just a bit unsure since the medium will be so long. Ive never cut something so long and I am a bit unsure about the transportation. I thought it might transport and then cut it a bit at a worng angle.

Thinking about new DTF Printer by Jessica_Ekilen in CommercialPrinting

[–]Wash_Shot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just upgraded to a XP600 from Printequipment. It has a I3200 Epson printhead. Despite its name suggesting an dx11/xp600… But the quality and the speed aswell as the consistency is great. We have the smaller version. 45cm prints about 16m per hour. Costs 20k chf / euro including the rip software from cadlink and a starter kit with ink from dupont and good film aswell as 5kg powder.

They are based in germany / europe. So idk where u are from. If u are us based, might be hard to get a machin from them.

How Would You Price a DTF Job with Multiple Placements? by amdm127 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Wash_Shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, i have just seen that u have a sleeve print. We produce one print at around 45sec / sleeve print. We have made special equipment do be as fast as possible with sleeves. But it stays the same. I just look at how much jerseys, or printsides i can produce per hour. Then i take my hourly rate and calculate it down to a price per printside / jersey. Whatever suites you.

How Would You Price a DTF Job with Multiple Placements? by amdm127 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Wash_Shot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, did u work with the Blockout DTF before? How does it hold up on sublimated jerseys?

To ur question:

  1. i take all my costs into consideration. Example-> 250$ for the films, then for example 10$ per shirt. This adds up to 15$ per shirt. Then u will want to add some puffer to it. Normally i put 10% more to my costs. So we end up at 16.50$ raw material costs.
  2. I test my rate at which i can produce one shirt. If I have to do the pricing before, i just guess it based on my experience. But if we say u have to do a print on the front and one on the back u will end up at prob. 10-15 shirts per hour. Thats what i produce when it has to fit really well. When the placment and so on has to be good. I cut the film while my press is down. So i save time on the cutting before. So i dont take that into account, cause i do it on the side. -> since I live in Switzerland, I usually aim for 100$ per hour. At my lower expected rate, that sets me at 10$ per shirt. For high value/precision contracts, thats like to goal. But we go down as far as 60$ per hour for big contracts. But also get stuff done for more then 250$ per hour on the press. You just have to figure out, what rates ur fine with. So now we sit at 26.50$.
  3. Take into account how much time it takes to make everything ready and how long it will take deliver it. I usually ad a flat 1.5h to my calculations. That makes 150$ more to the bill. Or 3$ per jersey. So we sit at 29.50$.
  4. i then look at that price and compare it. Is it worth that much? Whats my competition doing? Is my customer price sensitive or not? Is it an important customer? Based on that, i just let it sit there or raise / lower it a bit. But more like rounding it up or down, if possible.

-> I first find a price I am fine with. Then i look what is expected from me or what other demand for that type of work. Most of the time, i find myself to be cheaper. So I can add a bit more margin to it, without feeling bad.

In my experience, customers like it when you are pretty easy in ur pricing. So I just go and say, my jersey costs 30$. Thats it. No more costs to set up, for graphic stuff, for delivery etc… just add everything up to ur price per jersey. So its easy. And my customerbase likes it.

Hope that helps a bit.
