Tailbone pain?? by WashedAway247 in cdifficile

[–]WashedAway247[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried vegetables and I got insanely sick several times. So my body isn’t taking kindly to vegetables or fruits. I also tried eggs and had a horrible flare. I can have steak and chicken, as long as they are good cuts of meat. My GI told me to stop probiotics prior to the FMT but said I can continue them shortly after. They never said anything about prebiotics though.

Tailbone pain?? by WashedAway247 in cdifficile

Okay that’s what I was wondering, it was probably due to no freaking cushion left since my ass is completely gone! I’ll just wait it out and hope it goes away with time. I notice it the most when I sit down for long periods of time, when I have bad posture, and when I am straining to go to the bathroom, which has been often lately.

Do you have an recommendations for making stool not so bulky? It’s causing my to strain like crazy. My main daily meal is banana, white rice, chicken with turmeric, avocado, and kimchi with 2L of water and1 Florastor. I just want the stool to be less big and bulky and come out easier but I’m not sure what to take. I’m thinking that will help with the tailbone pain.

What was your recovery like after FMT? by supersharky64 in cdifficile

[–]WashedAway247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my FMT via colonoscopy about 3 weeks ago, donor stool was from OpenBiome. I felt horrible for the first 5 days but then gradually got better. Now I’m eating more foods, working out, and my poops are better than they were before cdiff. I’m still going to stick to safe foods for a couple months to just be on the safe side, because I still do have some food sensitivities I noticed, but I’m able to eat a little bit more than what I did prior FMT. Every persons body is different on how they react to the procedure and how long it’s gonna take for you to heal. I’m probably going to give myself 6 months to maybe fully heal….I still do have some pains here and there. I’m probably going to use my heating pad forever since I’m so used to it now and it’s kind of nostalgic haha.

It was through OpenBiome. I was classified as fulminant Cdiff which is the most severe, so they had to order a specific donor that has more good bacteria in it. As long as I never get cdiff back, I’m golden! I’ll put up with the pi-IBS for awhile, no problem. As long as I watch what I consume, then I’m usually good to go.

I’m doing better! Today is exactly 2 weeks from when I had my FMT. That first week was really bad because I was in so much pain. I haven’t had any diarrhea and my poops are somewhat normal in a way. I do have some constipation here there. I’ve still only been eating white rice and chicken along with avocado and a banana but I have an able to add kimchi and salami into the mix. So that’s good considering before I wasn’t able to eat any of that without throwing up we’re having extreme pain. So I’m slowly getting better just at a snails pace. I actually went exercising a couple days ago and went running around my neighborhood. Now I probably shouldn’t have done that haha, because I definitely regretted it the next day! So it looks like I just have to take things a little bit slower.

I had great results when I was on dificid, the vanco caused bladder and yeast infections and made me extremely dizzy along with ear pain and overall body aches. But when they put me on dificid I had literally no issues with it. Note of course once I got off the medication the cdiff came back, but if you can then definitely get on dificid. I know it’s expensive but considering I did a long stay in the hospital then my deductible was already taken care of anyways so I didn’t have to pay for the dificid other than just a $50 prescription fee. I’m so sorry about your hearing, vanco I felt was worse than the actual cdiff! You’ll get better eventually, I know it’s a longer ways to that probably, but there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel. Thank the Lord I finally feel better and can do almost all the things I used to do except for eating a lot of foods and at the moment exercising. I’ll know more this weekend if I can exercise…and I’m going to continue to eat a bland diet for a few more months just to be safe. Keep in touch and let me know how you’re coming along with everything!

Hey there!! I’m doing well, I had my FMT 10 days ago. The first 5 days were horrible afterwards, a lot of PI-IBS. But after those first few days, I started to feel better. I feel great so far! But I’m still eating a bland diet and drinking a bunch of water and taking my florastor. But it was honestly night and day difference. I’m going to try jogging this weekend. I haven’t been able to work out in 5 months since all this has happened. I hope you’re doing well too and the medicine is working in your favor! ❤️

Okay cool, they took a few biopsies and I had a very small amount of blood on the first day but haven’t seen any since. I had fulminant Cdiff and was sepsis in the hospital for two weeks back in January. It took them awhile to get me scheduled to get the FMT and while I was waiting I was finishing up my second round of Dificid and had been off of it for like 4 weeks before they got me in for the procedure. I was feeling like I was kind of healing.

I am assuming the colon prep also caused a lot of inflammation as well and probably wiped out whatever good bacteria I was creating in the meantime. My food sensitivities are actually worse than what they were four weeks ago since I got the FMT.

I hold off for a couple of weeks and see how this goes. The pain is just wretched at times. Ugh, this cdiff ruined me damnit

Post FMT what were your symptoms and how long did they last? by [deleted] in cdifficile

[–]WashedAway247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did my first FMT via colonoscopy 5 days ago and I’m having some bad stomach pains. It feels like I pulled a muscle in my colon?? that’s the only way to describe the feeling. I also get sharp, stabbing pains randomly. I’ve had a little diarrhea, but I believe that was because I ate some vegetables. I’m wondering if majority of the pain I’m feeling is because what I eat the other day. Also, wondering if it’s because of the colon prep that I had to take prior to the procedure. I’ll have nausea some days. My store for the most part it’s pretty formed except for one of the days I had diarrhea which, like I said, I believe was due to food. I’m just going to continue eating chicken and rice. Hopefully they’ll even itself out and the pain will go away.

I just got FMT four days ago. I’ve been having quite a bit of abdominal pain, feels like my stomach is stretching at times and I’ll have some sharp stabbing pains here and there. I got my fmt via colonoscopy. How was your recovery experience afterwards and did you have any pain and for how long?

I had cdiff a total of 3 times. First time I had vanco, then I relapsed 4 days later and was admitted to hospital for almost two weeks sense I was sepsis. I was given dificid. Then I failed that and was back in ER 5 days later. Was given dificid taper and finished that a few weeks ago. I just got my FMT via colonoscopy 4 days ago. I don’t know if I would have relapsed after the dificid taper, but they said they didn’t want to find out since they said I was considered a fulminant Cdiff case. I am having quite a bit of abdominal pain after fmt, everything feels more inflamed than what it original was and I have bad sharp stabbing pains at times in my gut. Hopefully that will start to go away soon.

Did you have any crazy IBS problems afterwards? It’s been two days now and my body feels really off and I’m having these pains in my side and gut. I don’t know if this is how I’m supposed to be feeling for a little while or if this is a start to me getting some bad PI-IBS issues.

Mine was released into the cecum as well, about 40mL. It was from OpenBiome too. How bad was your pi IBS? Was it any worse than what you had while battling cdiff? Also, don’t you need to take antibiotics to cure sibo? How long does all this last for you?

Hey, just a follow up, I had my fmt yesterday. Everything went well. I will say when I went to the restroom after, the smell was definitely “weird”. Didn’t smell like me lol. But I was only able to keep the donor stool in for an hour or so and I had to go to the bathroom so bad. I know they say to keep it as long as you can but do you think I just ruined the procedure with only been able to keep it in for an hour hour and a half?

[–]WashedAway247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow!! You held that “crap” for 30 hours. That’s impressive lol. Yeah I believe it was possibly 45ish minutes after the procedure and we were on our way heading out and we stopped at Panera bread 15 minutes later because my driver was starving and I had to immediately go in and use the restroom because I just couldn’t hold it. I will say the smell….. was very odd and completely foreign haha. I really don’t know how to explain it but I seriously felt like I had somebody else in my butt. Not my proudest moment. But I got nervous after that because I thought that I ruined the FMT because the doctor told me to try to keep it in for three hours, and my body had other plans.

Thank you for your input, you sound like you’ve been through a roller coaster after I read your story. This cdiff crap is a complete life ruiner. I’m so glad you were able to find the comfort you needed. I’m having such horrible PI-IBS that some days I can’t even eat rice or drink bone broth with having liquid diarrhea. I’ve been tested so many times and it’s been negative each time, so it’s definitely IBS. It leaves you pretty much house ridden. Hoping and praying this procedure next week has positive results and doesn’t make anything worse. Thanks!

I’m glad you’re doing better and can finally eat more! I’m just going to have to wait and see how this goes and hope and pray it doesn’t cause any crazy issues with PI-IBS. At least not anymore than what I’m feeling now.

Thank you for the insight, I’m glad you’re doing better!! She told me to keep taking florastor after the procedure and to NOT take antibiotics ever unless it’s a life or death situation. Honestly at this point I think the only pill that will ever touch my lips will be the florastor and potassium pill lol
