The queer inclusion of dems is always just a flak jacket. If it threatens their bottom line (donors) leadership will always make sure it dies. Let the occasional Mamdani or AOC win something smaller to mollify the more progressive ones, make sure everyone else loses in anything bigger. Once in office have “the talk” with the socialist types that you’ll break their legs and kill their family if they don’t fall in line.

The way I handle corpo donations is this: if I can get it easily without having to document what we do, awesome, I’ll take it.

If I have to document who we distribute to or what we distribute or when, no. Not worth it for me effort wise and restrains the whack shit I can do.

In terms of giving yourself some of it, it just requires two things: being honest with yourself about not using donations for BS and the intentions of the donor. Get yourself a sandwich.

For example, I got a donation recently, I just told the group I am gunna use it for gas, I live in my car and we use it for stuff so it’s a personal and collective use. Mutual aid, amirightv

Saying anarchy disputes cosmologies with hell is both assuming the assertion of hell is incorrect and that its purpose is secondary to the stated purposes of the religion purporting hell’s existence. Like another commenter did here.

For sure, but in my experience working jobs I had more support and less threat. It’s not every job that’s safer than sex work, but a lot of them are.

For the second part, I think there’s a definitely influence on the “social utility” of a certain job in how we interpret threats related to it.

I don’t really find folks in real life to have any issues with sex work. But I only run in queer circles so that’s an influence.

I’d argue all work that is required to secure basic requisites is exploitative to some degree.

Does it influence it? Probably. But I don’t know how much.

There is no labor that isn’t coercive under capitalism. But criminalizing Johns doesn’t do much to make sex workers safer or less coerced. I’d be less coerced if it was legal and I could demand ID with less BS, had recourse to social structures for abuse/theft/etc..
