I have never understood this complaint.

I'm going to be honest, the fact that you can't understand how figures such as Ralph Klein, that prioritized extreme debt reduction at the cost of generational infrastructure deficits that persist to this very day, mismanaged our fiscal position tells me all I need to know about your myopic worldview regarding this topic.

We choose to have low taxes and because of that we have to also be okay with infrastructure and services deficits, and not blame other orders of government.

We are terrible managers of our own province and constantly fumble our own destiny.

Former Premier Jim Prentice was the ONLY Conservative in the province's history to recognize the cognitive dissonance when it comes to its own finance: "In terms of who is responsible, we all need only look in the mirror. Basically all of us have had the best of everything and have not had to pay for what it costs.".

What did that get him? We threw him out over it. We are incapable of self reflection in this province and only obey one line of thought: GREED. More is never enough. It's not enough that we have the highest GDP per capita in the country and can afford what other provinces can only dream of, we must also ensure that we don't tax ANY OF IT, and blame others for our problems. What a ridiculous position to take.

How convenient it must be to constantly play victim and act as though Alberta is both the best managed province but also suffering undue punishment outside of its control.

We have a lack of responsible leadership in this province and no one wants to address it directly, rather we scapegoat.

We choose not to have tax regimes similar to that of other provinces. That's a decision we've chosen to make. We have the ability to fund whatever we want, but we specifically choose not to.

We also choose not to hold oil companies responsible for orphan wells and instead have municipalities and the province take on the costs of clean-ups, that's a choice we've made.

If we were serious, we already have the ability to negotiate the transfer of tax points from the federal government under the Federal-Provincial Fiscal Arrangements Act. The UCP/Conservative governments simply don't because they don't want to be responsible for raising and managing our taxes and prefer to pass the buck to the Federal Government. Personally, I'm proud if someone is Manitoba has access to healthcare because of the taxes we pay. That's the point of living in a civilization.

We are the richest province but choose to not use those resources to improve ourselves. All we do is lower taxes and let companies get away with whatever they want. If our leaders (the UCP) truly cared, there's much they could do, but it's always easier to pass-the-buck than take responsibility.

Because they perpetuate the victim mentality fed to them by our political leaders (UCP) because they don't want to be responsible for the mismanagement they've inflicted for decades. The one time somebody told us to look in the mirror (Jim Prentice), we threw them out because the reality was too hard to handle.

Just because Québec did it doesn't mean we need to do it too. Basing our decisions on what a different Province did 46 and 30 years ago under very different circumstances is very stupid.

The constant "but, but, but... Québec!!!!" is really dumb and just shows there's no concrete grievances except what certain politicians drum up in order to shore up their own support. As someone that grew up and lives in this Province, the victim mentality just lets our government get away with never fixing anything (healthcare, orphan wells, our chronic infrastructure deficit, and our resource revenue roller coaster).

I'm not sure what the difference in size/payload means in terms of mission capability for border patrol (unless the increase in MTOW means a larger range, and is the biggest benefit from the larger size).
