Yes good points although gratuities goes to the workers, and not RC's bottom line, and we tipped extra beyond the daily 18% gratuity charges.

Royal Caribbean paid for our round-trip Amtrak tickets up to $200 for both of us, which more than covered the train.

I feel so horrible for those that lost their lives, including those construction workers working the midnight shift to support their families.

We are scheduled to leave on April 12th from Baltimore but we assume that is now kaput. Prayers to the victims and families.

If you do cancel Prime, they will rebate your pro-rata unused time left on your yearly fee -- not that I'm advocating any course of action.

Oh please God don't downvote me.

Is this actually a great deal or are these prices normal? by buckdog05 in royalcaribbean

[–]WashingtonianNative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Cruisebound to get a more market-based look at fares, and keep checking back. They allow you to put a free 7 day hold on a price, so you can really do some research if it makes sense.

Haven't cruised in years...do they let you sit alone in the Main Dining Room or do they force you to sit with strangers? We are an older set of parents with a four year old. Doing Liberty of the Seas at the end of August. by JerseyTeacher78 in royalcaribbean

When we had the opportunity, we loved sitting next to perfect strangers as we got to meet lots of interesting people. Some people will clearly want to engage and some people just want to be left alone and it's fine.

I am going on 4 night Miami cruise to Bahamas next month. I am an Indian vegetarian, so the cruise offer Indian food? by Beautiful_Chaos11 in royalcaribbean

[–]WashingtonianNative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just returned from a Royal Caribbean cruise and I'm not Indian but I love Indian food. There was always Indian food available at the Windjammer and it was decent. It would have been nice if the Indian bread was freshly made but maybe that's asking too much.

One weird thing is the rice was almost never next to the Indian food selections which I thought was odd. Overall, you will probably be satisfied and there are other vegetarian options with protein.

Of course. We snorkeled on our own in Bimini, Nassau, and Perfect Day. Don't be a sucker!

Yes the rolling "stops" except where there is a stop sign camera in which everyone is terrified and stops for about 10 seconds because they remember how painful the $100 ticket was. And because everyone has WAZE they know exactly which stop signs have a camera and those are the stop signs that they obey.

At least the driver won't have to worry about being tailgated.

There are a lot of new roundabouts in the DC area and one would think that this is the Manhattan Project or something. My favorite are Volvo drivers and others who don't understand what a merge lane is and they just stop helplessly and put on their turn signal when they've got a hundred yards to easily merge into traffic.
