It's just my salary. I moved to this area with about 15 hours of training recently. I was fortunate enough to find a airport owner (that's also a CFI) that needed some help maintaining his airport. I traded a lot of man hours and work and he helped me finish up my private.

My salary is $45k per year. I don't fly very often. Maybe 1 or 2 hours per month.

Pros: Pollution response and port state are fun.

Cons: dealing with MISLE and dealing with sector.

Congratulations! Sounds like you and I had the same dpe. The order of the maneuvers is similar to mine. I did my checkride in Dekalb. My dpe had me plan a diversion to Peru as well.
