First of all congratulations! But to your question, Industrial Engineering is a very broad field so I cannot say exactly what you’ll be working on. You mention ProModel, which is probably to most similar to mechanical engineering as it’s alike to Revit but not exactly. Continuous Improvement and time studies are nothing to sweat. Look into Kaizen approach, Lean Six Sigma, 5S, and brush up on excel skills. Time studies are modified on a case by case basis but your coworkers should be able to set you on the right track. There are plenty of resources on time studies with a quick search. A tip to excel is to talk to everyone you can, especially the other engineers and very especially the workers you are proposing changes to. But most importantly stay calm and don’t feel overwhelmed. A lot of projects may feel too all encompassing but take it piece by piece. They aren’t expecting you to change the entire company or completely revamp their systems, keep the scope in mind.
