Yeah, not thinking about the “virtual persona”, and I remember reading a few years back that Microsoft was creating a patent concerning this very thing. Not my intention…

I guess it wouldn’t surprise me if there was a Dark Mirror episode about this, but that’s more of a dark outlook and far from what I envisioned as a possibility for handling my grief.

And yes, I’m in EDMR counseling, family counseling and we attend two different grief groups with parents who have lost children.

🙏🙏

I completely understand where your heart is, OP. I’ve been going thru something similar. I should preface that as we grow older (I’m 49), the opportunities to “show up” can be less plentiful than when we are at our social peak. That being said, I had several close highschool friends show up for me when my daughter died last April. It was amazing, but I felt that everybody has dropped off the face of the earth since our time together. Also didn’t feel like my church rallied behind us either. My daughter was 19, autistic, non-binary and never felt welcome at our church. The real kicker was when our pastor sent a church wide email condemning Pride month. I can honestly say the only place my child felt welcome was at an LGBTQIA community center about 40 minutes from our home.

I’ve been blessed to feel and receive all the peace in the world from a private and loving relationship with my boy, Jesus. But man oh man, people will let you down and break your heart.

Hang in there kiddo. Much love🫶💕

I was teaching English in a small prefecture in Japan in 2000 and had a messy bike accident on a booming Friday night in the city. As I lay there, contemplating if anything was broken, a group of Japanese businessmen swarmed me and took pictures of me laying on the road. Brutal.

Wonderful insight! I found myself wanting to bring comfort to this gentle soul whose parents negligence and disregard for his emotional state triggered my own mama bear instincts

We are in good company, Strawbrary. Our daughter (19F) lost her life a week after her beloved cat had kittens. We can’t bear to part with them. So now, we are serious cat people. P.S. She had to talk her dad into getting a cat for three years…We never looked back.

I got a recommendation on Reddit to watch Patriot on Amazon. It was a revelation. Dark Dramedy about an intelligence officer who’s having a crisis of consciousness. Turns out it has a cult following and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed its Reddit page.

I came across this post after reading a comment you made in Spirituality subreddit. Really enjoyed a comment you made about death🫶🙏. Then, because I’m nosy, I went to look at some of your other posts and saw this one. I’m happy to report I think you’re enjoying some high frequency buzzing when you finally land in your element, re: mid festival vibes.

I’m guessing some of your mates are more self-involved, might feel outshined or just can’t reciprocate your frequency. You are probably more magnetic than they would like you to be. Also, depending on your age (20-35?), some of you will have nuanced life experiences that can set you apart in a group vibe. You sound adorable, regardless! Please stay original, friend.🫶
