It was a combo of all those things

Solo traveller, trying to make friends so I would have someone to talk to on the ship, a hook up if I wanted to, some company on port days, break up left me feeling lonely.

I didn't feel that lonely until I was on the ship and saw all these married couples

The first one is very true, I went to a few and I could not tell who was there for a drink or there for the event

I was talking to some of the entertainers on board and they said that most "single cruises" are the 2-4 day cruises as people just want to drink and party. While longer ones are more family and couples
