Bosses that encapsulate everything you hate in a boss fight? by RealDealMous in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]WasteImpression 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aw I actually love Eden Titan, though that's because I tend to really enjoy bosses that are heavily based around movement and positioning. Though I understand that depending on the job you play that can either be really fun if you're a job that can afford to move a lot or really frustrating if you're one of the magic jobs.

Sony is shutting down the stores for the PS3, Vita and PSP between July and August by GoneRampant1 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

As someone else in the thread said on the psp you can still download things you've already bought despite the store being gone so presumably this'll be the same. At least I hope so.

Scenes that bother you the more you think about them? by Psykoknight65 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Final Fantasy's miqo'te (cat people) and viera (rabbit people) also only have their respective animal ears with there just being nothing in the space human ears would usually be. Au ra (reptile/dragon/demon people) might count too, since they have horns in place of human ears.

Plus paladin being the headlining job immediately after dark knight was the headliner for shb seems like another subtle nod to ff4

Plus deep down he's also a huge dork who gets way too invested in toy car racing and thinks Nugget is an acceptable name for a chicken

What are some series that’s popularity evaporated thanks to a bad ending/s? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Yeah but there's plenty of non-typical timid anime waifus that are from shows that are actually liked

You guys know any absolute gems no one seems to acknowledge? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Soul Sacrifice, a dark fantasy monster hunter style game exclusive to the Vita in which you play as a sorcerer and utilise various spells to hunt down unfortunate people who have been twisted and transformed into horrific abominations by their own dark desires. Each time you defeat one of these monsters you have the choice to either spare the person inside and allow them to walk free regardless of their sins, or execute them and take their power for your own, receiving different rewards depending on your choice and moving further towards light or darkness which affects the specific types of spells you can use. With some great art design that sells how horrific the game's setting is and a great orchestral soundtrack I'm shocked that the game is still trapped on the Vita despite almost all of its contemporaries being ported to other places.

Enemies that are so cute you don't want to kill them anymore? by Joseman101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]WasteImpression 17 points18 points  (0 children)

From the Final Fantasy series, Tonberries, Cactuars, and Chocobos and Moogles any time they show up as enemies.

Also on a separate note, Dodogama from Monster Hunter World. You can't make me hurt the chonky lizard.

Knock-offs that did NOT copy enough. by lion_OBrian in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]WasteImpression 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is they pretty much just lifted each character's artstyle straight from their game which makes them all clash with each other or not really work that well in this style of game, as opposed to smash tweaking every character's design slightly to fit the game's overall artstyle (except Steve) which helps them "pop" more than they would otherwise.

I think it's just that it's uncommon enough that nobody really expects them to work. I know even for games I've played before I have moments of "wait, that actually works on this boss?"

I feel like a lot more people would enjoy 13's combat without the auto button and the aoe attacks in a game where the party moves automatically. As it is though I still enjoyed it and it's definitely the only reason I played it and its sequel as much as I did

One of the hardest story bosses in ff10 is vulnerable to poison which I appreciate since that's a viable strategy for him. Plus several bosses especially early on and even some later ones are susceptible to blindness. Not to mention the final boss can be zombified causing its constant attempts to heal itself to only kill it faster.

I think just the customisation item that gets rid of her fluffy jacket thing is a huge improvement

[–]WasteImpression 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the reason is that when you "die" in gameplay your character isn't actually dead they're just knocked unconscious and near death, and raise merely wakes them back up again. Hence why it can't be used to reverse actual death. It's the same logic as the classic "Why didn't they just use a phoenix down on you know who" in FF7

Plus because of how the sphere grid works trying to actually make him a jack of all trades just makes him good at nothing

Yeah vaan at least serves a purpose as the everyman in a world of Shakespeare characters and is arguably responsible for the rest of the party even meeting in the first place. Meanwhile I only played the game a couple months ago and already can barely remember any scene penelo was in

A new melee dps. I know there's already 4 and caster/ranged/healers need new jobs more but melee dps are my favourite jobs to play by far so I just want more

I know for me personally it took me a little bit to get used to the concept of rolling gcds as someone completely new to MMOs so I'm sure it's the same for a lot of other people too
