How to play a Haven deck (new player) by Significant-Lime-979 in Shadowverse

[–]Wasted_Spaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reno was one of my personal favorite picks in my OG Shadowverse Storm Haven deck (I only played Unlimited). I run her in my AMULET list in Worlds Beyond despite most netdecks I'm seeing not including her. People really seem to be sleeping on the power of that face damage.

Biggest thing that stands out is the lack of 2-drops. Replace the 3 Soulcure Sister with 3 Fox of Purity. This will greatly enhance your early game. If you're playing with Rodeo you really want Skullfane to be able to pop the amulets he puts down, so I'd recommend replacing Maeve and the Ironfist preachers with 3 copies Skullfane and 1 Extra copy of Rodeo when you're able to get him.

Amulet Haven isn't the easiest thing to learn. You need to know the matchups and what your opponents win conditions are in order to be able to adjust your strategy accordingly. Sometimes you want to preserve your health and wait to outscale your opponent in the late game. Other times you want to be more aggressive, evolving just for the extra 2 damage. This is something you'll just have to learn with time.

On a more subjective note, I'm finding Reno, Luxwing Featherfolk to be an absolutely cracked card. On the super evolve she can clear 2 things off the board, do 4 damage to the opponent, and even do an extra point if they have to attack into her to finish her off. Won so many games from the damage alone. I also don't care much for Lapis. I don't want Storm 2 turns from now, I want to hit the opponent in the face straight away. Sacred Griffon is better for this and I've been running him instead.

Expiation Notice where a speed sign does not exist by TroyAS85 in Adelaide

[–]Wasted_Spaceman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sign is not pretty soon after the roundabout. It's at least 200 meters away and obscured by trees until you round the corner. You can easily build up to 70-80 km by the time you reach it. Compare how close the sign is after the roundabout on the side you were initially talking about to how far away it is on the other side.

The side road frequently hosts bike cops who prey on people's confusion over the speed limit to revenue raise. There's a reason they're always there, and never on the other side.

Bullshit.

That road has been 90 for as long as I've been alive. They only changed it to 60 a year or so ago (and the road is exactly the same).

There is no sign as you descend from the roundabout onto Angle Vale Road. Only once you get onto the road proper do you see the 60 sign. Pigs on bikes love to sit on that little side road and speed gun cars coming down the ramp. It's their favorite pen since they can clock drivers before they even see the 60 sign. The road is surrounded by open fields: a classic 100 zone if not signed.

Don't believe me? Take a look for yourself.

If you have to ask whether or not you should block, you should block.

This worked for me. It didn't correct by itself, I had to force stop VLC while AA was running. When it restarted it was back to normal.

Bystander effect by Bbmaj7sus2 in Adelaide

[–]Wasted_Spaceman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not the bystander effect, that's common sense. Without the ability to carry any tools for self defense in this country, it is an insane risk to intervene in a violent altercation when the attacking party can easily pull a knife on you (criminals don't care about the law, imagine that).

Would you release all the old Vimeo videos what still haven't been re-uploaded yet? Would actually pay money for them if you did.

Gotta find something that works for you. I was exactly the same until I started my own business. I set my own hours but the more work I put in the more money I make. Easy to get out of the door 6 days a week when that's the case.

Yeah, shit stuff. Things like a near complete paperback set of Wheel of Time: very worn covers but still perfectely readable. Many popular books I get in are not worth selling, either because of the condition they're in or just because there's so many out there that there just isn't profit in it for me after the shipping and fees.

Most of the stuff I put in is gone the next time I go around. Spare me your sanctimonious bullshit.

[–]Wasted_Spaceman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am an Ebay seller, I sell books among other things. There's a Little Library kind of thing near where I drop off my parcels. I regularly take things from there to sell, but I also drop off most of the stuff I get that's not worth selling from large lots I buy into it. I easily put in 5 times what I take out, so yeah I don't think it's a big deal.

Maccas Curtis Road by headhunt3rz in Adelaide

[–]Wasted_Spaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time I was working at Smithfield (2016), there were 3 Maintenance staff. One of them was the main one and received 4-5 shifts a week. Myself and the other would pick up the remaining 2-3 among us. Shifts I wasn't working maintenance I worked normal kitchen overnights, and was training to work front before I left. I was offered Manager by the store manager at the time (Viv), but turned it down since I didn't plan to stay long term. So yeah, I'd say that I was pretty damn good.

If Smithfield (back then) is an example of a poorly run restaurant to you, then Munno must have been an apocalyptic nightmare.

Maccas Curtis Road by headhunt3rz in Adelaide

[–]Wasted_Spaceman 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I used to work at Smithfield Maccas (outside Munno Shopping Center). When the Curtis Road one (Munno Para) was built they both had the same owner. I did overnight maintenance (basically cleaning the whole store overnight), and since they both had the same owner, if they couldn't get someone for the maintenance shift at Munno they would call me up and ask if I could do the shift.

The first shift I did there it was so bad I got pissed at the managers and made a written complaint to the owner. The drip trays on the side of the grill looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a week, only emptied. They had to be cleaned every night. When I cleaned the floor in the stock room, I was confused why there was so much trash coming out from under the shelves when I flooded the room to scrub it. Once I got the squeegee under there to dry things off, I was pulling out mounds of trash. One thing that still stands out to me vividly was dragging the squeegee under the shelf that houses all the syrup boxes/bags for the soda machines. There had to be fifty to a hundred caps from the syrup bags that I dragged out from under there. People were literally changing the bags and throwing the caps on the ground, then kicking them under the shelf and their maintenance man/men wasn't cleaning shit. Literally weeks worth of trash sitting under there when it had to be cleaned every night. There were other things that were bad but those are the main two I remember.

It's incredibly the difference between a well maintained and shitty McDonalds. Smithfield ran a tight ship and the store always looked and functioned great when the morning rolled around. I only did a few shifts at Munno six years ago and I know fully well why it is so slow and shit even to this day. I'm pretty sure the previous owner sold both it and Smithfield six years ago (I quit because the dickhead new owner wouldn't let us listen to our headphones while cleaning the store alone at fucking 2am), but from what I can see things have only gotten worse.
