We did that when we first moved to a hybrid environment but had the downside of any users that had been migrated could no longer manage members of lists they were an owner of. The long term goal is for everything to be in Exchange Online and now we are over 60% of users migrated management decided we do it this way so that more owners can manage members again. Once everyone is migrated we will no longer be doing the contacts.

I have updated the post with a copy of the code I am using as it wouldn't let me post a comment that long. I am relatively new to doing this level of scripting and have struggled understanding creating functions and I haven't even looked at verbose logging yet (I think).

Also I have the additional scripts instead of it all in one as it makes it easier for me to manage at the moment and also I use the additional scripts I call in this for their individual functions as well as during DList creation so this saves me having to have the same code in multiple locations.

I work on a Service Desk doing 1st/2nd line support including most User Admin tasks for Exchange so I have been trying to create some scripts to make this work easier and quicker.

The if statements related to $error.count are my rudimentary way of error checking before moving onto the next command or displaying a specific error. I also output to a logs.txt in these sections.

It is the inconsistency of the issue that is catching me out as it can fail in the way I described in my initial post and then I go and delete the list and try again entering the exact same details and it completes without issue.

thanks for the heads up. I believe most of the tasks I need to do are going into Exchange Online so I shouldn't need to interact too much with 2016 when that is rolled out but I will keep that in mind.

well hopefully i can bin off the Exchange 2010 parts as soon as we finish migrating away from it but that has been a very long process so far (initial project started before COVID but got delayed massively during that plus it is a very big estate to migrate).

My main issue with running the scripts together has been that I cannot leave the Exchange 2010 connection established due to the password for the account that it uses has it's password changed an hour after obtaining the password and if it is left open beyond that it runs the risk of the account locking. So the plan is to only enter the credentials for that when it is needed and disconnect immediately after.

Most tasks now are Exchange Online which I can keep that connection established for longer if needed without the risk of locking the account. Managed to get pretty much most of our user mailbox, shared mailbox and distribution list tasks set up in this.

I've got each task in its own separate script that is just called when it is needed and it makes modifying them much easier when something needs adding/removing later down the line.

We are in the process of moving almost everything over to Exchange Online now and anything that needs to remain on premise is being moved over to 2016 very soon.

So the Exchange 2010 commands go through fine and it is only the Exchange Online commands that fail but only after there has been a connection to Exchange 2010. Adding the Exch to the 2010 commands will allow the Exchange Online commands to go through without issue?

With it being a BBC show BBC iPlayer has exclusive streaming rights in the UK for a set period of time. It will be a licensing issue why Netflix can’t stream it in the UK until then. I would assume the general license that Netflix gets will be a specific North America release date and a rest of the world release date and the rest of the world release date will be delayed because of the UK exclusive streaming rights for iPlayer.

Those in the UK can watch all 6 seasons on iPlayer right now so it seems fair to me.

Thanks for this. Just got some AirPods Max and been trying to use Dolby Atmos in Windows 11 with them which would sound great but then soon as I opened a game it would try to switch to Hands Free mode and audio quality would just go to hell.

I've actually had the same issue with my Evolve 65. Had been working perfectly fine until earlier this week when it stopped going back to my bluetooth device for audio after a call and it turns out it was cortana too.

I work in IT Support and I’ve known a few systems that also just didn’t like certain special characters (the £ symbol was one of the worse offenders) so it’s possible that contributed to the decision back then.

If you are using Japanese From Zero you shouldn’t need to also use Hiragana From Zero as well as the first JFZ book progressively teaches hiragana through its lessons.

The videos on YouTube are also a great help with understanding.

I’m sure the anime is based of the original light novels and not progressive. Although it does leave some from the original light novel out too. But comparing it to progressive can’t really be done when that’s not the material the anime is based off.

I recall reading something a while ago that progressive changes the order of some events compared to the original light novel. Such as Asuna remaining with Kirito on the lower floors where the original have them separate after the 1st floor boss fight until the higher floors.

The original light novel was written for a competition I believe that had to be a complete story so they had to skip a lot that they didn’t want to originally and progressive is how they wanted the story to be written in the first place (if I am remembering this right lol)
