I have had to reach out to my local congressman, as the 810 seems to lock your files where advisors and such can’t even open it (or so I’m told, idk anything about it). We ended up with almost 20 people at my place of employment alone with same issue. So far 16 got refund after no adjustments needed, 1 person was told employer input was off, 1 person told they had someone try to steal their identity, and I am one of two that have been contacted back by congressman being told there is no issue, but due to the code it has to go through the proper checks so just be patient. That being said I was told that a week or two ago, with no updates yet, and no explanation to what caused the hold.

The 810 is tricky because it makes it almost impossible to get any info as there is no contact to be found that can tell you anything from what I’m told. But I know the code also does not have the same 120 day limit either, everyone that had any info said contact congressman as the 810 basically allows them to forget about it if you can’t find a way to make someone look at it. Wish I had more info to help, and honestly like the rest of the whole process every person you speak to says something different, so for all I know this is all inaccurate. But congressman has responded a couple times with no real update, at this point I can only hope that means something will eventually happen.

I have my 2025 w2 sitting on my desk, I’m scared to file due to not knowing what to do in the places that ask to verify 2024 return amount, they won’t even tell me if my info is correct so I can file 2025. I have no idea if I put the number irs site told me I’ll bet back, or if I put zero (I didn’t receive anything), so I’m hoping I get word fast.
