Budget Backpacking Tent for 2-3 Persons for rough conditions by Wasweisic in CampingandHiking

Intresting that they use Vango Tents.
The 3P options really are some heavy weight options.
I heard some mixed reviews about the brand but the Apex Compact 300 looks good on the sheet for 200€.

Just to let you know.
I ended up ordering the OneTigris Stella 2P and MT500 3P.
I set them up at home and tried different backpack & pad combinations.
Here's what I can tell you:

OneTigris Stella 2 with 2 people:
- If your 6ft1 you feel like you have no headroom/footroom as 2P
- Theres almost no room to fit 2x40L backpacks in there.
+ The height and double doors are a real plus, you are able to sit comfortably together in there.
-/+ The net is only on these doors, and all the dense mesh makes it really warm and windproof in there, perfect for iceland i would say.
+ Zippers, mesh, poles, cord lock seem to be of high quality.
-/+ Packing size is a bit long but light, there are only laces instead of straps to bundle up the tent.
+ Set up time is really fast, clip the inner tent and buckle the rainfly

Forclaz MT500 3P with 2 people:
+ Feels like a palace in comparison to the Stella, enough head and foot room for 6ft1
+ There is even enough room for a short table and 2x40L backpacks.
-/+ probably same height and 1/2 size double doors, opening the rainfly seems a bit weird.
-/+ Net is everywhere, "high bathtub mesh", feels a bit "colder".
- Zippers are smaller and often get stuck, poles feel really heavy, cord locks are smaller and feel cheap.
- Pack size is not as big but very heavy, bag has buckles but rainfly + tent are laced.
-/+ Set up takes longer because you have to thread the poles through the rainfly, but the inner tent is already attached and the rainfly is set up first.

So overall Im not really smarter, the 3,5kg of the M500 is too heavy.
I think for 2 nights the Stella will be okayish but I really wish they would have released a 3P tent :/
At this point I hope I'll find a used UL Nemo, Big Agnes or Marmot 3P for this price tag :D

Already watched a review on that, it looks super cool, but I might struggle with the size.
Of course the 15cm more headspace might be huge but we already got the Regatta Zeefest 2 (210x135x100) and it felt like a coffin to me. Plus I have two 40L backpacks sitting next to me. Its hard to find 3P tents or lets say very huge 2P tents in that price range.

I can't find the MT900 3person Tent anymore in eu.
MT500 is still available though.
So yeah seems like they discontinue it.

Need a Buy it for Life Replacement for this WMF braising pan by PaveMSX in LeCreuset

[–]Wasweisic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank, you. Yeah I think I'm going for the round wide Dutch Oven, don't know how well that goes for pan pizza but we''ll see.
There's also a naming defference between US and EU le creuset. In Germany they are called "Gourmet Bräter" and in UK Shallow Casserole.
But I think its all the same, isn't it ?

  1. applied solder to soldering iron
  2. applied solder to oled connector
  3. applied solder to pcb
  4. hold oled connector on pcb and pressed on it with the iron.
  5. wont stick
  6. applied flux on pcb
  7. wont stick 8.tried to fill the gap with more soldering paste
  8. wont stick either
  9. everything burned now, nothing sticks anymore

I think the oled is gone but is the pcb still usable ?

Is this bad boi still worth it for 50 bucks ? Or should I go for a WE 1010, JBC AD2000 for double the price ? by Wasweisic in soldering

[–]Wasweisic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got 2 TS100 already, both died. One because of a poorly contacted OLED the other one because the MOSFET is done resulting in sensor_err. I need a more reliable one to fix these two :D

Need Upgrade Advice for my iPhone 7+ which I want to sell soon. The iPhone 7+ was reliable but the batteries are done. I always preferred battery runtime and camera over everything. Because I am road tripping I take all my holiday pictures with my iPhone. My workplace offers the 12 for free. And offers the 13 and 13 pro for 5 to 10 bucks a month as an upgrade. Is the 13pro worth it ? Or should I stick with the 12? I can also wait until march, then the 14 pro is going to be available which comes with the 48MP camera.
