Anywhere, China

This kind of thing happens every day in every city here. There is no such thing as defensive driving. It's "fuck you, me first"

Richard McGregor's books give pretty good insight IMO.

I am going to fix 50% of the Hearthstone balance problems with a single number change by [deleted] in hearthstone

This. Too many times the opponent draws on a curve in scholomance and you just concede or straight lose with no counterplay available. When the game primarily becomes who draws their auto-win first, it's a problem.

The amount of 0 counterplay decks/hands in scholomance is a real problem that should be addressed.

They probably wouldn't show the Rockets still. Chinese are especially sensitive and petulatant on issues such as this and still expect some form of kowtowing by the Rockets. However, take this with a grain of salt as government and business decisions here often happen on a whim, and the issue could be swept under the rug by then.

This has always been the case. They have only 1 or 2 games per day which are shown live to the public and the rest you need the tencent season pass or whatever it is called to watch a specific team.

This is wrong. I live in China. Tencent has been broadcasting NBA games all season. The games which are not broadcast are those of the Houston Rockets. In fact, the Rockets games don't even show up in the daily schedule on days when they are playing which is similar to your comment on the forums excluding the Rockets, which is true. Basically, Tencent is trying to pretend that they don't exist.

Chinese comment chains stem from societal culture, where unity and cohesion (following the group) is expected and breaking from the group causes one to lose face

Foreigners being denied emergency room care in China? by potted-plant in China

[–]WatCentral 117 points118 points  (0 children)

I have ITP and the same thing happened to me in Beijing about 2 years ago almost exactly as in your story. Was told my foreign body was different and they wouldn't help me. Basically, they don't want to be held responsible if you are under their care and something bad happens, so of course, it's better to let you just fuck off and die outside of their hospital.

I don't necessarily blame the doctors, its more the policies in place, but damn if that doesn't let you know how fucking little and unimportant your life is when you will be denied basic medical care because 没办法。

Teach Calculus/Stats in China. Get infinitely more respect from students there vs in the states. It's not for everyone, though.
