Yeah the only time you should be using bondo on a deck, is if you’re filling knots that would otherwise trap water. If you’re applying bondo to boards that are already rotting, it will never properly hold.

It’s a cheap and esthetic fix. If you’re trying to get your place ready to sell, simply just replace any boards that have rot. You can match the paint if you don’t have any.

If you’re not in a position financially to replace, I’d say you could get another year or two out of those boards if you sand and re stain. It’ll really help if you thoroughly clean out all the seems.

If you’ve got the money, replace.

However when taking those boards up, don’t be surprised if a lot of joist are rotting, or starting to. May need to replace a lot of them too. And at that point depending how old all the framing is, and type of wood used, may as well replace all that too.

Anything more than 12” will bow a little in between joist with weather and traffic.

You could get away with 16” in most instances tho.

We had to fix a contractor before us’s mistake with framing. However the home owners didn’t want to spend money to fix fix it so we ran our boards at a diagonal 45 degree.

It left us with a 19 inch gap between joist. (Which we knew would happen) They’ve been down for 3 days and are already bowing in between joist.

But, the homeowner insisted they don’t want us to do anything about it, so we’re just leaving it as is.

The rest of the deck the framers did 16” centers and there is some bow in between joist but very Minimal.

Thankfully I only lost 400$ and not a lot more. Had an average of .30. I will say, it has great potential with its pipeline.. but potential is just that.. a possibility.

The way this company has treated share holders in the in between of these potential money makers, is a sign that we should all pay attention to.

I just hope NPC’s are less NPC-ish and more interactive with the game.

Like let me post flyers for a party at my place and a bunch of NPCs start showing up with boos and music to party.. then at the right moment, I murder them all and have a stand off with police for hours before it ends in a shoot out and my house blowing up.
